Curiosity Killed the Cat || Alexander and Mackenzie
Mackenzie had been growing restless confined to the school grounds. She was fine living there, but it was only fine when she had the option to leave the campus completely whenever she chose. It didn't help that something inside her was drawn to the nearly opaque, shifting air. The new threat of a danger within made it all the more entrancing, though she had the good sense not to stray too near to it. Well, she had the good sense not to go too near it most of the time. Maybe it was the madness of the powers raising the normal tensions. Or maybe it was just the fact that she was tired of clinging so close to all of the buildings.
She slowly crept closer to the edge of the fog that enclosed the school, hoping to catch a glimpse of this ghoul  before it could catch a glimpse of her. But the thing was, she didn't catch a glimpse of it at first. She heard it. She had gained more control of the weather being so tied to her, but the sound in the thick fog, but a quick sharp panic flew through her body, eliciting a bright flash of lightning, followed by thunder, impeding her hearing of the creature. She was frozen, unsure if she was going to draw its attention by running. But she could hear the sounds getting closer.
