I sent a message to the main, but I also wanted to say goodbye to everyone (and I saw Riah’s post in the OOC and I didn’t want to just bombard everyone with sadness of people leaving. So here’s a readmore so you can read it if you want).
I figured I owed it to you guys to let you know instead of going totally quiet like I did last time. I'm going to have to leave MOH, at least for the time being, since it's not only a very busy time right now, but also I don't expect it to lighten up too much any time soon since I plan on studying abroad in the fall. I’m so excited for the opportunity but I also know that it will take up a lot of my time in planning to go, and once I’m there, experiencing everything that Ireland has to offer. (I’ll drink a Guinness to you guys)
My muse for Mackenzie has been low, and she just doesn't want to wake up to do any replies. I love her and feel like she’s been my baby for forever, but if I can’t get her to talk, someone should have the chance to do so. As much as I want her to be mine and only mine, she’s a great character that deserves to be played by someone who has the time and muse to commit to her.
So I'm gonna say, goodbye for now. Hopefully I can return in one way or another (as I already have).

“Where have you been?“
Pascal’s eyes widened in horror. “I-I-Is that r-really what that smell is?”
She shrugged. “I mean, what else could it be? It makes sense when you think about it. People just don’t like to think about it.”
“Where have you been?“
“O-Oh, do you like your grandparents? M-My mom isn’t c-close to her parents and my dad, his m-mom passed away, and his dad and him, they’re not so close.”
“They’re okay. I mean, old people are weird to get along with and you have to deal with their old people smell which is just the smell of their organs slowly decaying inside them, so I don’t like extended periods around them.”
Unique sat down at one of the tables in the cafeteria, familiarizing herself with her schedule. She had been laying low understanding the school a bit; memorizing which hallways lead her to her classes, which ones didn’t, remembering where she would walk to the reach astronomy tower, learning where this club met and where that club met. She my have even sat in on a fencing practice to learn more about the sports at the school.
She smiled as she danced her fingers across the paper drawing random patterns. The school was different than what she was used to and she loved every second of it. This was her first step in starting her adventure. She then glanced over to her satchel that rested on the table beside her, maybe she should write down her adventures.
Mackenzie spotted her sister at one of the tables at the cafeteria, a small smile catching on her lips as she  watched her fingers dance across the page. She quickly glanced around the cafeteria, pushing the corners of her lips down a bit. She saved her smiles for her sisters, and she didn’t need anyone else in the cafeteria to see.
She sat down next to Unique, nudging her with her shoulder. “You haven’t memorized it yet?” She raised her eyebrows, glancing down at the map of the school. “If you need to know good places to hide to skip class, I can let you know.” She winked, knowing Unique probably would be five minutes early to every class, whereas Mackenzie was lucky to show up.
“Where have you been?“
“Oh, r-really? It puts a d-damper on things, huh?”
“Yeah, at first I was spending all my time with her. Which did not help. And then I stayed at my grandparents. Which wasn’t much fun, but it sucked less.”
Closing Time || Amelie + Mackenzie
Starbucks was always busy in Portland. Each and everyone of its locations was always packed from opening to closing. Costumers were always in and out, from the regulars to the once in a blue mooners. Amelie could swear she once served one thousand customers during a single shift, and while exaggerating, wasn’t totally left field. It was always energetic as it was forever hip, and the people of Portland loved being trendy and overpaying for their coffee.
Today, however, unlike every other day was quieter. Not quiet because Amelie probably saw hundreds of faces during the five of her six hour shift today, but it was noticeably less than usual. She could also tell from the number of receipts that had been printing today. Slow days were rare at the Starbucks on Main and 60th Ave location. Odd for sure, but not totally unwelcome.Â
Checking the minimalist clock on the wall opposite the register, Amelie calculated that she could start closing up in forty-ish minutes if no one was here then. Her co-worker, Lo, was in the back room texting safely away from the scrutiny of the security cameras. Lo had one month over Amelie, which technically made her the senior between the two of them, and that she wouldn’t be helping the redhead all that much. Not that Amelie would ever complain. She liked her job, and needed it even more.
Having been staring off into the distance for so long, Amelie’s eyes remained inactive when she heard the door open, letting a customer in. Quickly readjusting her company visor and smoothing out her green apron, she gave the usual greeting and automatic smile before registering the other’s face, “Hi, what can I get for you today?”
Mackenzie had just finished her shift at the bookstore, regretfully leaving the quiet space of the pages. Her coworker had promised her that they’d lock up, but conveniently had an “emergency” to attend to, which left Mackenzie to do all the lock-up duties. She would’ve minded more, if she didn’t like the chances for quiet, not even the whisper of a customer turning a page.
As low-stress as the bookstore was, Mackenzie still liked to congratulate herself on another day of showing up to work and adhering to the schedule. Half the time she was sure, she was going to skip work to the point of being fired, but it hadn’t happened yet. So, for another day of employment, another day of earning money, she was going to spend money on silly overpriced tea, even though she had plenty of boxes and mixes back in her dorm.
She glanced at her phone as she headed down the block, making sure that Starbucks hadn’t closed yet. She typically liked to go to a more independent place for her drinks, but they tended to close an hour earlier than what was convenient. So, she had to resign herself to the mass-marketing and get something in the white and green cup.
She smiled a bit awkwardly, recognizing Amelie behind the counter. She know she found it weird when she saw people she recognized at work, but that had more to do with being forced to interacting with them, rather than choosing to do so. “Hi, uh, can I have a venti soy chair tea latte?”

Prosper sat with his leg propped up and his back against the wall. Life hadn’t been treating him the greatest as of late, but he didn’t bother to do anything about it. His grades were slipping and he managed to break his arm. If he wanted to swim to relieve his stress, he couldn’t. It was finally hitting him how much it sucked, though, and he sat away from the activities before him in the corner, watching everyone with a slight unamused expression. “Idiots,” he whispered under his breath.
Mackenzie pretty much needed to take a break from taking a break. She was skipping her science class in favor of reading but the people around her were just being too damn loud. She sighed, standing up, finding a place on the wall to sit down. It was only after she had plopped herself down that she noticed someone beside her, hearing them mutter about the people who had been bothering her. She smirked glancing to her side. “I know, right?”
“Where have you been?“
“Oh… Uh… I didn’t r-really go anywhere I just- um… My m-mum wanted me home f-for a few days.”
“Oh, my mom had me do that last semester.”
