An original Mountain Hardware waterproof cap, for cold weather sailing. A cheaper option are synthetic-material knitted wool caps.
Taped seams (like on a tent fly), prevent cold water leaks.
Underside of cap bill is oddly not synthetic/ quick dry. The cotton-like material will retain unwanted water in cold season sailing.

At the Iron Mountain Sno-Park, we were the only ones there. Perhaps it was the weather forecast that had kept the snowmobilers away; or perhaps it was some NASCAR event. Either way, the trail groomed by the snowmobilers made an easy mile+ trek along the closed Mormon-Emigrant Trail
