Landscape Language Matutinal (adj) – occurring in the morning While some animals are crepuscular, or most active at dawn and dusk, there are also plants and animals that are only active in the morning. The most famous is probably the morning glory flower, but some wildflowers at Mount Rainier are also matutinal. For example, Orange Agoseris (Agoseris aurantiaca) blooms open in the morning and then close at night. What about you – are you a matutinal type of person that is more active in the morning?
