moonie tell me all your jasper/pink diamond feelings please, what do you think is going to happen when she finds out, when is she going to come back to us
OK FIRST OFF my personal timeline is
pink picks up her rouse as rose > pink begs the diamonds to save earth > pink becomes rose the rebel > pink & pearl meet garnet > crystal gems form > jasper is born to fight them > pink fakes death > bd and yd find out > evacuate jasper and other “loyal” gems from earth > send out corruption beam
I want to know their relationship SO BAD. I love the theory that the scream of anguish you hear when pink is “shattered” is jasper, WEH. I know a lot of people think she never met pink but I think that’s….. boring………. I wonder if pink encouraged her personal soldiers to defect by being terrible, orrrrrr wanted them just to stay loyal (and go home?). what’s interesting is that jasper missed the corruption beam, so someone decided to take her off earth……. maybe pink? (“She was going to scare every gem off the planet.”) I like the idea they were close, even that she made pink realize that people would still care about her and her status as long as she was living. I also think (like how she underestimated PD and YD’s love for her) she didn’t ever ever imagine jasper would be so affected by her death. I want jasper flashbacks!!
ALSO ALSO: In the art book theres a mention of “a new sensible Pearl is custom delivered to Pink” which FASCINATES ME. So Pink had two pearls - one we know, one we don’t. One is Our Pearl, who I think originally belong to white diamond (the color, the gem placement) and was given to Pink. I think the reasoning behind this was a in-universe reason for why Pink and Pearl don’t “match” the way the other diamonds and pearls do. Based on the way the timeline is formatted, it looks like Our Pearl was the second, but I love the idea of her actually being the first who gets replaced after she runs off to rebel?
SO THE QUESTION IS: who’s the second, is she alive, CAN I SHIP HER WITH JASPER. did they cope over her death together???
I’m really really hoping that the diamonds are the key to unlocking uncorruption because we’ve just been waiting SO long!! she’s probably second on the list after the centipeetles, so I hope after their little ship tour they’ll bring her back. (Yellow also clearly respected and cared about her to send a rescue mission of Ruby’s so I think she’d be personally there to help.)
I am 100% here for jasper instantaneously becoming ride or die for Steven. “okay, so I fucked up by letting my diamond die, then I fucked up by threatening her/her son, so THIS TIME IF ANYONE LOOKS AT HIM FUNNY ILL DESTROY THEM.” her self loathing comes from feeling like she “failed” her one purpose (keeping her diamond safe, defeating the crystal gems) and i would love if, after some anguish over it, she just goes “FINE COOL MISSION CHANGED ONLY SLIGHTLY. KEEP STEVEN SAFE.”
she’s definitely the going to be the most difficult to “acclimatize” to beach city life, and Steven alllso knows that lapis is still about ready to bolt at any moment and that making her comfortable with jasper being around is not going to be easy.
