Realised I never posted this headcanon as a stand alone thing, it’s only mentioned in one of my long fics, but it’s something I feel deeply in my heart:

when are we as a collective going to learn that daniel james and philip michael will never do what we want them to do, especially when we want them to do it? they’re like those cheeky little bastard cats who push things off tables for the sheer love of chaos and the pleasure of pissing you off. the thing about the thing is that we all know what it probably is. there aren’t many options as to what it could possibly be, yet we’re being edged within an inch of our lives. why? because they can, and they will. oh, you think you’re a parasocial freak? wait until you realize they’re energy vampires feeding off of our very life sources. their strategy of tricking their fans into gaslighting themselves and metaphorically slapping each other on social media like pikachu and his clone at the end of the first pokemon movie has never failed them, so why wouldn’t they choose violence every single time? have any of you thought of that?
