Looks like Tumblr’s going a little bit too far with this NSFW ban shenanigans. First, they incorrectly mark my posts as “sensitive”, and now they’re pretty much trying to forbid me from posting personal stuff that is pro-LGBTQ+ (I could also go one about the Article 13 bullcrap as well, but I won’t).

Rockruff are born with a special gene written within their DNA. Although the reason why it exists is unknown, scientists conclude that it is what causes Rockruff’s split evolution, depending on the time of day (Midday Form in the daytime, Midnight Form during the nighttime), and as such have dubbed it the “Midnight Gene”

The Midnight Gene has two requirements in order for it to be active: one, it obviously must be at night, and two, the Rockruff has to be under the influence of a full moon (old werewolf cliché, I know, but still). It is always dormant during the daytime or when the moon is waxing or waning (or even if it’s a new moon when night falls)

Because of this, which form Rockruff will take on when it reaches its Evolution depends on how often its Midnight Gene activated, which in turn depends on how much lunar energy it has absorbed. A Rockruff who has been under the influence of a full moon for long periods of time will be more likely to evolve into Lycanroc’s Midnight Form than one who hasn’t had a single drop of lunar energy

When the Midnight Gene activates, the Rockruff’s eyes will turn red and it will enter a feral state, showing no concern for its opponents in battle, much like Lycanroc’s Midnight Form

Honestly, I used to be that way. I was an avid supporter of a good handful of Pokémon ships: AdvanceShipping, PearlShipping, NegaiShipping, AmourShipping, AlolaShipping...yep, definitely a good handful (even though my most preferred ship is Amour, fight me)
