The Finest Pork In The World. With the Summer 2012 Olympics in action, it is hard not to admire the abundance of talent worldwide.  So, it couldn't be a more appropriate time to highlight our Kurobuta Berkshire Pork, a superstar British breed combined with the unparalleled Japanese raising practices to make the most flavorful, juicy pork you will ever taste. How did these two components from opposite sides of the world come to meet? Legend has it that the English Berkshire hog was discovered in the 17th century by Oliver Cromwell's army at their winter quarters in Reading, the county seat of the shire of Berks in England. Praised for its tremendous eating quality, the Berkshire breed was refined in the early 1800s and has remained pure ever since. Several years later, the British government gave the Berkshire hogs to the Japanese Emporer as a diplomatic gift. The Japanese raised these Berkshire hogs with special care and attention, feeding them luxuries such as sweet potatoes, apples, clover and nuts. The end result was a perfectly marblized, sweeter tasting pork that still holds the highest prize to this day. Don't believe us? Try it for yourself!
