Notes:Â OH MY GOSH, I'M BACK YOU GUUUYS. Sorry I've been away so long. I was just having a really hard time writing things for a while there. With that said, I'm going to try my best to start cranking these out - at least one a day from now on!! Bri~~ Here's your JirTsu. It's supposed to be younger thems. 8D I hope you like it~
Honestly, Tsunade had never thought she would see Jiraiya looking so glum, but there he was, seating with his back to a tree, staring off into space as if space itself had wronged him deeply. For a moment, Tsunade considered just walking right by him, pretending like she hadnât even noticed. But she couldnât really bring herself to do that. It was⌠disheartening to see Jiraiya the way he was.
Instead, Tsunade sat down next to him quietly and watched as he slowly shifted his gaze to her. "What?" he asked after a moment. "You donât have to talk to me. I know you donât like to."
For some reason, the words stung and Tsunade puffed up a little in indignation. "I never said that! Youâre just detestable most of the time." She trailed off slowly and frowned. "Why are you being so gloomy anyway? You look ridiculous."
The words were harsh, but she knew that her concern was seeping into her voice. Jiraiya only responded with a shrug, though. "Sometimes everythingâs pointless," he commented idly. "I just donât like when I realize it."
That wasnât right. Everything wasnât pointless and Tsunade knew it. And she knew that Jiraiya knew it too. She just didnât know how to force him to admit it. "You donât believe that," she finally replied softly. "Otherwise you would have given up. On everything."
Another shrug. The apathetic nature of Jiraiyaâs current responses were starting to get on Tsunadeâs nerves. "Fine," she continued. "Be that way. But if it was all pointless would I even be sitting here talking to you?"
For a moment longer, Jiraiya was silent. Then, he glanced at her thoughtfully. "Why are you talking to me anyway?"
Tsunade felt her face heating up quickly. "I was worried about you, idiot! Youâve never looked this upset! Ever!" She could see a slow grin spreading across his face at her words.
"Youâre worried about me?" he asked, a hint of his usual self-confidence seeping back into his tone.
"Not anymore!" Tsunade punched his shoulder, hard, causing the boy to yell out and rub at the now sore spot. "Stop being such a lump. Iâm sure youâve got plenty of work to be doing." With that, Tsunade stood up, ready to walk away. She hesitated, though, and turned back after a moment. Leaning down, she planted a quick kiss on Jiraiyaâs cheek. "Feel better," she mumbled before turning to storm away in a huff.
Jiraiya stared after her, rubbing his cheek and grinning.
