This is my first time writing for Dream so I hope you love it!!
1. hugging them from behind, laying their head on the other's shoulder
“You’re brooding, my love.”
You felt as much as heard the amused huff that Morpheus let out as you slipped your arms around his narrow waist, hooking your chin over his shoulder. You were well aware that he had known you were coming, no corner of the Dreaming being invisible to your husband, but you liked to think that you had sneaked up on him where he stood out on the balcony.
“I do not brood,” he grumbled, unable to keep the affection from his tone.
“You do,” you teased, “You spend too long brooding and you get this little crease just here.”
You reached up to gently touch the space between his dark brows, finding it tense as you knew it would be; after a few seconds, it relaxed beneath your touch and you smiled softly.
“You know me too well,” he admitted, catching your hand in his and bringing it to his lips, “I have had much on my mind in recent days.”
You hummed, pressing your lips to his shoulder blade through his coat.
“I wish I could ease your mind.”
He turned in your arms, lifting your chin gently as he smiled a rare smile at you.

Might I request “quick, kiss me!” with Dream please?
Here you go, love! Short and sweet!
Running through the Dreaming, you searched everywhere for your beloved Dream. He'd been gone when you awoke that morning and you hadn't seen him at all even though it was bordering on midnight. You'd tried the throne room, the library, Fiddler's Green, and even Abel and Cain's.
Finally, you found him walking the halls of the castle. He was just separating from a nightmare when you jumped at him. He caught you in his arms and held you close. Before he could speak, you cut him off.
"Quick, kiss me!"
"Kiss you?"
"Yes! Please? It's important, you must hurry." You could see the amusement dancing in his eyes but he leaned down and kissed you gently. Just as he pulled away, you heard the clocks chime the new day.
"And what, pray tell, was your urgency, dear one?"
"If you must know, we almost went a full day without a kiss. A complete travesty if you ask me." You told him with a grin. That pulled a soft laugh from Dream and your own smile widened at the sound.
"Well, that would have been quite the scandal. I assure you it will not happen again." He promised. You knew the two of you were joking, but there was no jest behind his promise and that made your smile soften to something only lovers shared.
"See that it doesn't." You told him softly. With that, the two of you joined arms and began the walk back to your quarters.
Your husband may be a busy man, but he would always take time for you.
He hates himself for it, how he has you dedicated to memory. How he could just crawl inside your mind and never come out again, spend the rest of his eternal days in blissful union with you.
He hates it because he hates himself. It's a deep type of self-loathing that runs through his blood, bones and muscles.
You see, he worries. He worries that his love for you will put you in harms way and it makes his stomach sick, makes his throat hollow and his hands clench and he knows that he would kill planets and stars just to keep you safe.
Morpheus knows he has enemies, people who want to seem him dead or worse, and people who want to see him suffer. And he knows that they know, you are the one way ticket straight to his heart.
But today, these feelings are at bay.
Today, he loves loving you.
Today, the two of you are sitting on his throne. You have your head in his lap and your legs thrown over the arm of the chair, and your smiling up at him while recounting your day. You walked around London with his sister, Delirium, and it makes him happy that she finally has somebody more than the crazy and blood-family to care for her.
You chatter to him about her, calling her smart, in fact the exact words you say are, "She has her own peculiar brand of wisdom." and he makes a mental note to tell Delirium later.
Eventually, all that has to be said, has been said. And the two of you just sit in peaceful silence, content and at peace. Dream's hands are in your hair and you softly grip his shirt and he wishes that he could freeze this moment, take a million photos, paint a thousand paintings, just to memorialise it.
He wants to run away with you, he thinks to himself, just for the evening. He'll take you to Venice first, and from there he'll buy you the world.
In the wake of his own capture, his queen was imprisoned too (angst)
“ɪ ᴛᴏʟᴅ ʏᴏᴜ ɪ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ꜰɪɴᴅ ʏᴏᴜ.”
After being killed by Roderick Burgess during her attempts to free her husband, YN returns to Morpheus shortly after he himself reincarnated (fluff) Pt. 2 to Grief, but can be read on its own!
I would love to request prompt 9 (ravens) with…..who else, Dream of course 🥰 I’m so excited to see what you come up with!🤍
Hello my dearest wife!! Here is your completed request🥰
Ravens, with Dream.
Summary: The Lord of Dream's can take many forms, of which you have learnt about in great deal. But you had no idea your fiance could transform into a raven... Right?
Warning: Fluffy, super soft, Dream is being a playful little bugger, food mention.
“And then I managed to find the very last packet of blueberries, because I know how much you love them, and some lady stared at me like I was the worst person on the planet.” You laughed, rolling your eyes as you picked out another of the small berries and held it out to the creature next to you. “How could I explain that I need those berries because my fiancé has an affection for them, but only in the form of a raven?”
The creature next to you was, in fact, a raven.
And not just any raven, but your fiancé, Lord Morpheus.
Dream of the Endless. King of Dreams and Nightmares alike.
Many knew that he could present himself as a glossy black cat, had spent many years as one in fact, but it was lesser known that he could transform into a raven, the favoured creature of his loyal companion.
In fact, you hadn’t even known about it yourself, not until Morpheus had told you last week. You’d been laying across the soft grass beside the lake in the Dreaming, your head on his lap, with his long fingers trailing through your hair and against your scalp.
The feeling was exquisite, combined with his liquid voice as he told all about the many aspects and different lore that surrounded him.
He’d come to the different forms he’d taken throughout history, and revealed to you the lesser known raven he adopted now then.
You hadn’t been able to learn anymore, as he’d been alerted to a Nightmare causing particular trouble and he’d informed you regrettably that it would take a few days to fix.
It was no matter, you understood and admired how devoted he was to his task, so you simply kissed him, wished him luck and looped your arm through his as he took you to the waking world, so you wouldn’t be lonely in his palace.
Shortly after that, you’d begun to notice a particularly glossy looking raven in the garden of the home you also had in the waking world.
He carried himself with more grace than the other ravens, and he was just a tad bigger too. There was no other person it could be, no other entity with that magnetic pull.
You’d caught him watching you, noted the gleam in his eyes and how it was really rather similar to the same glinting spark your fiancés eyes held when he used his power.
Morpheus was busy, but he’d still managed to find time to visit you whilst he chased down his Nightmare. The Raven form was clearly so as to not alert the rogue creation of his presence.
Of course, you’d been utterly ecstatic. He was beautiful. Those glossy feathers caught the afternoon sun, iridescent shimmers dancing across the surface as he stretched his wings, almost in greeting to you.
He seemed ecstatic when you approached him, tub of blueberries in hand and held one out curiously, only to watch as he devoured the berry and then cocked his head at you for more.
And so began a daily ritual. The raven came both morning and afternoon, hopping onto the windowsill and gently tapping his beak to the glass to let you know it was time for blueberries… and careful strokes to his wings.
You told him what you’d been up to that day, and your fiancé listened patiently next to you, soaking up the sun and your warmth, pleased to be near you even when his jobs and your lives tried to tug you apart.
“So, I hope you know that if I get attacked by angry blueberry lady tomorrow, I’m holding you fully accountable and you can come apologise.” You chuckled, lifting a hand to run your knuckle down his back, between his wings.
He cawed gently, wings spreading a little with the feeling and he fluffed up in delight at the attention.
Big softy. Just like he was when he was a cat.
You watched him affectionately, stroking his silky feathers still and you placed a few more blueberries in front of him, “I like spending this time with you… like this. You do so much for so many people, you deserve to be treated with care and love. To be pampered, you know?” I let him eat his berries, bringing your legs up beneath you in the garden bench, the setting sun casting a warm, golden glow over you both, “When you’re in your normal form, I am going to wrestle you into a bubble bath and you’re going to let me wash your hair. I want to treat you.”
Suddenly, you heard the crunch of footsteps on the grass, breaking the peaceful ambience of your garden, “So, you truly have replaced me. I had heard the rumours, but I doubted their truth until now. I have to say, I think I might be jealous.”
The silken, liquid night voice of your fiancé swept through the air, caressing your skin like a warm caress, even it did slightly startle you… because the voice wasn’t coming from the bird.
It was coming from behind you.
You spun round on the bench, confusion written clear on your face as you took in the tall, sleek figure of Morpheus. Who was standing with his hands in his pockets, hair ruffled by the breeze and a smirk playing about his lips. “Mor??”
You blinked, “But…” then turned your gaze to the bird next to you, who was pointedly ignoring you in favour of berries. “But I thought…”
Morpheus sighed playfully, coming to stand right behind the bench, his hand coming out to gently tug a lock of your hair, “No no, you don’t need to explain, my love. I understand you have chosen a bird over me. My own preferred species of companion too. This heartbreak…” He shook his head mournfully, “I may never get over it, but I wish you all the happiness.” He touched his other hand to his heart, lips pulling into a pout.
You were so confused.
The raven finally looked up, fixing you with a… a somewhat innocent gaze as he ruffled his wings, head tilting this way snd that to try and see if you had anymore berries. “So, you’re not this raven?”
Morpheus chuckled softly and shook his head, “No, though I can give myself feathers if that’s something you’d prefer? Perhaps I could caw at you instead of talking?”
“Hey!!! You told me could turn into a raven!! I thought you’d been visiting me all week, I bought so many blueberries!” You felt your cheeks flush softly, wondering just what was going on. Did he have another raven companion? Like Matthew?
“Oh yes, I know all about the angry berry lady. And you know, it’s rather endearing how willingly you spill your secrets to a feathered creature.” He was fighting a grin, his encapsulating eyes glimmering and then it hit you.
He’d been teasing you from the get go. He had made it up, and you’d spent the whole week befriending a raven who obviously thought he’d got the jackpot.
You blinked once more, then burst into soft laughter, mostly at your own expense, “Oh my God, I can’t believe I’ve been thinking this raven was you. All this time, I’ve been talking to it as if it were, and he probably thinks I’m crazy now.” You shook your head, still tasting laughter on your tongue and you raised an eyebrow at the raven, “Why didn’t you say anything?”
The raven, who really was just a raven, merely made a little clicky sound and proceeded to tuck his head under his wing to preen his feathers.
Morpheus was still laughing, and he slid his hand through yours, pulling you round the bench to reach his side, “My work with the Nightmare is finished. I came to ask if you wanted to go back to the Dreaming, but when I saw you I just knew I had to watch my handiwork.” He was grinning now, a truly rare grin that made little dimples show on his cheeks, and made this phenomenally powerful lord seem… boyish. Young. How long had it been since he’d played and teased and tricked for the sheer joy of it?
You rolled your eyes affectionately, gently hitting his shoulder before melting into his embrace, “You are insufferable. I shall be getting you back for this, you know.” Your hands made a slow path up his chest, pausing to feel his heartbeat before looping around his neck. As always, you toyed with the edges of his hair, the locks as dark and as silky as the feathers of your new friend.
Morpheus ducked his head down, touching his nose to yours sweetly, before pressing warm lips between your brows, “Oh, I don’t doubt it, my queen. I shall be waiting with bated breath to see how you get me back.” You felt a smile spread across his lips, goosebumps rising with the action, “Let’s go home. Your new feathered friend can come with us, if he likes.”
You hummed softly, eyes closed to savour the strength of his long arms wrapped around your back, his lips murmuring intimately on your skin, and that feeling of endless imagination whenever you were nearby, “Perhaps Matthew would like a friend.”
The air around you shimmed and rippled as Morpheus took a hand from your back, lifting it to his lips where he now held the golden, shimmering grains of sand. He turned them away from your face, blowing onto the particles until they swirled through the air, opening a gateway to his beautiful realm.
He motioned for you to go first, ever the gentleman, but not before leaning into your ear one final time,
“So, about me growing feathers. Is that something that you’d like? I could fly us to the Dreaming, if you’d rather.”

Hey, how are you? Could I please request prompt 21 cuddling in the first morning light, with morpheus x reader? And if you could please tag me in your morpheus posts? Thanks babe 💗
I hope you love this! And I’ll add you to my Morpheus tag list, it’s only for one shots so you’ll have to keep an eye out for blurbs 🥰
21. cuddling in the first morning light
When Morpheus awoke in the early morning to cold sheets and an empty bed, he knew exactly where to find you.
The walk to Fiddler’s Green was a pleasant one as the sun rose, the chill of the night fading with every step he took. As he knew you would be, you were sitting against the broad trunk of an ageless oak tree, a blanket spread across your lap and your eyes on the horizon.
“You can see the sun rising from our bedroom, you know.”
Looking up at the sound of your husband’s teasing voice, shielding your eyes with your hand, you smiled at him.
“I do know that. But it’s so beautiful from here.”
He hummed in agreement, sitting down in the dew-soaked grass beside you and accepting the corner of the blanket that you lifted for him. Your head found its home on his shoulder and he let his cheek rest atop your hair as he draped his arm around your shoulders. The distant whisper of the waterfall and the warbling of the birds in the trees had a sense of peace washing over him, made stronger by the familiar feeling of having you tucked into his side.
“This was what I missed the most when you were gone,” you whispered without taking your eyes off of the sunrise, “I still came here each morning, until the Green left the Dreaming anyway, but the sunrise never felt right without you.”
You felt his arm tighten around your shoulders.
“I did not see a sunrise for over a century,” he said quietly, “I knew that it was foolish…but part of me believed that the sun would not rise again until I could watch it with you in my arms.”
You turned your head to press your face into his shoulder; he did not speak often of his captive years and it broke your heart on the occasions that he did.
“You have me now,” you murmured, your voice muffled by his shoulder, “I swear that you will not miss another sunrise while I am living.”
“That is a bold promise.”
You could hear the smile in his voice without having to look; still, you looked, and his smile was lovelier than every sunrise you had witnessed since the beginning.
From the physical affections prompts: Can I please request Morpheus/Dream (The Sandman) x reader + prompt 9. “wiping away someone’s tears“ please? Thank you so much!!! 🖤
I love this prompt for him!! Things have been stressful for me recently so this is a very self indulgent blurb
Warnings: Mentions of struggling with stress
“What if I stayed here with you, in the Dreaming?”
It was a question you had asked him a hundred times in jest, but there was something in your tone that made him look at you curiously. It was almost as though you were pleading with him, begging, and it sparked concern for you within him.
“You would be missed too dearly in the Waking,” Morpheus told you honestly, “It would be selfish of me to keep you.”
You let out a humourless chuckle.
“Could I not just stay for a little longer than a night? Just long enough to have a proper break from…everything?”
Frowning, he reached for your hand, lacing his slender fingers with your own.
“The Dreaming is not a place in which to hide,” he said gently, “You are always welcome here, eagerly awaited here, but it would be wrong of me to keep you from your life in the Waking. I think you know that.”
You did know that, but it didn’t stop tears welling in your eyes at the thought of leaving him when morning came. Life was stressful and exhausting for you at that point and your time in the Dreaming with your love was your only respite, his company bringing you more peace than sleep alone ever could.
His free hand beat yours to wiping away your tears. Where your own fingers would have been clumsy and rough and fuelled by embarrassment at crying, his were slow, tender, reverent. Your tears shone on the pad of his thumb as his fingers cupped your cheek, gently coaxing you to meet his eyes.
“You are stronger than you will ever know,” he told you quietly, “You do not need to hide from your life. Having said that, I shall always be here when you wish to escape it for a little while in your dreams.”
As you woke up, alone in your bed with your tears drying on your cheeks, his words echoed in your head.
hi, hope you're doing well. could i please request #22 (hiding their face in the other's neck) from the intimate moment prompts with dream?
I hope you enjoy this!🥰
22. hiding their face in the other's neck
Warnings: Nightmares
Intimate moments
It had been many months since your last nightmare.
It had been so long that it took your slumbering conscious a little while to recognise the experience, to act on the jolt of adrenaline that shot through you as you realised that you were being chased. What it was chasing you, you had no idea, but you felt the sharp scratch of branches against your arms and legs as you ran through the woods and heard its terrible roar not far behind you as it crashed through the undergrowth.
You were not sure why you cried out for Morpheus as you ran. Perhaps your subconscious knew that there was only one with the power to put an end to your nightmare; perhaps he was simply the one you called for now when you were afraid.
When a hand closed around your wrist and pulled, you knew before you awoke that it was him.
Even still, you woke up with the sort of start with which all mortals wake from nightmares; it made Morpheus’ heart clench to see the fear that lingered in your eyes until you spotted him, sitting on the edge of your bed. As you sat up, you reached for him, your fingertips brushing the fabric of his coat.
“I had a nightmare,” you whispered, as though he didn’t know, as though he hadn’t pulled you from it himself.
His jaw tightened. He had taken his eye off of you in the Dreaming for one night and a Nightmare had leapt at the opportunity.
“It will be punished,” he told you, his voice soft and his words anything but, “It will not happen again.”
“I used to have that nightmare all the time, before I met you.” You frowned. “I still don’t know what was chasing me.”
“Nothing that I will ever allow to catch you.”
You believed him, and yet you were hesitant to return your head to your pillow. Your days of nightmares had ended when you met the Lord of Dreams, but the memory of them lingered.
“Would you stay? Only ’til I’m asleep?”
He nodded once and, shedding his long coat for once, moved to lay beside you. Even with the duvet already covering you, you were glad of it when he draped the coat over you too. His arms drawing you in towards his chest so that you were able to bury your face in his neck were all you needed to feel safe to drift back off to sleep. Just before you did, when you were teetering on the edge of slumber, you felt his chin moving atop your head as he murmured to you:
“Rest, my love, and I will meet you in the Dreaming.”
