At least it wasn’t a more horrific wound. The blood staining his fingers didn’t bring him any fear of Arthur losing his life. “But if your injuries are only ever this bad and never worse, I can’t complain.”

“yeah,   no  shit?   what  d’ya  expect  from  pearson’s  cooking,   arthur?”   she snorts loud and in amusement,   and though she agrees with her friend’s criticism,   she’s still eating the meat from the deer’s leg.   it’s been a very long day and all her bones ache and she’d been starving for the past couple of hours.   she could have made a much better meal but that would have required standing around some more and she doesn’t think she would have been able to do that.   so she sucks it up because at least she’s got food in her belly.   but she’s still going to complain with arthur.   “think  i  prefer  it  overcooked  than  raw,   though.   that  just  me?”   she cracks a grin and takes a big bite of the meat,   struggling a bit to tear it off.   her jaw is gonna hurt after eating this.

“neither did i.  i think only sick bastards could get used to the sight,”  sadie’s chest feels tight as she hops off bob,  giving him an affectionate rub on the side of his head.  there’s a bleeding steed on the ground,  unluckily caught between their shootout.  it’s clear he’s not going to make it and there’s nothing sadie can do about that,  but at least she can make him feel more comfortable in his last moments.  she kneels on the mud and dirt and lightly picks up the large head with a grunt,  placing it on her lap and stroking his ears.  she’s always been great with animals,  was raised with a multitude of them and she’s sure she considered her first horse to be her bestfriend even before she gave her sister that title.  but she wouldn’t be showing this softness and affection if she was with someone besides arthur.  at least she knows he feels the same way.  “wish more folk treated their horses like you do,  arthur.”  she wishes more people were like arthur period,  but she’ll keep that to herself. 

her  hand  is  small,   pressed  against  his  broad  chest.   lips  lifted  in  a  smile.   the  sun’s  going  down  and  the  light  has  hit  his  eyes  just  right.   despite  being  hidden  behind  a  thicket  of  trees,   beside  cracked  and  dried  ravines.  she  likes  it  here,    least  as  long  as  he’s  around.    ❛ 𝒘𝒉𝒚  𝒚𝒐𝒖  𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏’  𝒂𝒕  𝒎𝒆  𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆  𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕  ? ❜    like  he’s  swallowed  up  all  the  words  he  was  gonna  say.   quick  and  simple,   she  rolls  onto  her  toes  and  presses  a  kiss  to  his  lips.    swirling  in  a  moment  of  madness,   until  she  plops  her  feet  back  to  solid  ground.  her  hand  moves  toward  his  neck,  stops   ---   and  then  she  slips  away.

“Might I ask you a few questions, mister?” A swift apology follows suit for his invasion of the gentleman’s space. “I’m not here to interrogate your personal affairs, sir. I’m lookin’ for someone--- a lil’ girl. Been askin’ everyone and, well, no one seems too interested in helpin’.” Real shame some people could CARE LESS about the matter. A photo was already in hand when he smoothed out the worn piece of paper, signs of being folded away again and again, presenting it to the stranger. “She’s... got a mum real worried about her.”  * @morhgan​

         THE  CAMP  LOUNGES  LIVELY  AND  GREEN  IN  THE  HEART  OF  THE  FOREST.    strange  that  he  finds  arthur  away  from  the  main  campfire,   lingering  by  the  wagon   -   the  wheel  is  close  to  losing  it’s  balance  and  will  need  to  be  fixed  relatively  soon.    and  at  first,   charles  is  sure  that’s  what  arthur  seems  to  be  looking  over  until   charles  notices  the  object  in  his  hands.    brows  lift,   near  -  silent  footsteps  taken  in  arthur’s  direction,    taught  at  such  a  young  age  to  keep  as  quiet  as  possible,   even  all  these  years  later  in  the  comfort  of  others.    light  frown  given,   clearing  past  the  stop  in  his  throat  to  speak.    ❝    arthur?    what’re  you  doing?    ❞        /        @morhgan    +    caught stealing their belongings!
