REVENGE IS EVERYTHING

note: her background is the same for all her verses EXCEPT for hunger games.  used to live with her husband and someone ends up murdering him,   which makes her dip into a dangerous life.   sadie is chaotic neutral in all of her verses.  and a slytherin,  if you’re into that like i am.   all rdr verses: my main one follows the events of the game pre-epilogue where she’s running with the van der linde gang as an outlaw.  epilogue/post-epilogue verse consists of sadie being a bounty hunter and bodyguard.   then by rdr1 she’s mostly retired from the bounty hunter life and is living alone in mexico.

fallout 4 verse: sadie’s an unaffiliated bounty hunter in the commonwealth.   although she denies being part of the minutemen,   she constantly helps them get rid of enemies/threats and can sometimes be found in their settlements trading supplies or getting some rest.  she spends a lot of time in goodneighbor and picks up a lot of her bounties from there.  she is mostly always seen with her hugely grossly mutated two-headed horse,   bob.   absolutely loathes raiders of all kinds since her husband was murdered by a group of them. 

far cry 5 verse: her home and her husband were burnt down in the whitetail mountains by jacob’s peggies.  doesn’t openly side with the resistance but just like in her fo4 verse,  she goes out of her way to help them and support their cause.   is an absolute fucking menace to the cultists and is known for burning down wolf beacons.

hunger games verse: sadie was chosen as a tribute for District 10 when she was 18 years old. She was the lone victor, although not without suffering serious physical and emotional damage. her vocal cords were paralyzed from a blow by District 2's tribute, and she lost strength in both of her hands due to having her fingers and wrists broken. she's been the best mentor she could be but no one from her district has won, so she's become extremely pessimistic and has sunken herself heavily into the bottle.   openly sides with the rebellion against the capitol.

modern verses of all kinds, gta 5 inspired: she operates off the black market/~dark web~ as a mercenary/hit woman.   has a very extensive criminal record for minor crimes but she has never been caught for her more major ones.   does a good job of passing off as an ordinary widowed woman--   lives on a farm on the outskirts of a big city by herself with lots of farm animals.   also sells the produce from her farm for dirt fuckin’ cheap at the local farmer’s markets and donates a lot of food to women’s shelters.

There’s something so inherently tender about her gesture that causes the blush on August’s face to glow noticeably brighter — even before she can tease him about the coal dust and grime staining his skin. With a sheepish smile, he leans ever so slightly lower, providing her with an easier reach as he stares into her eyes. Utterly transfixed by the pools of dark hazel studying each speck of dirt on his skin. Only the warm rasp of her voice snaps him out of his trance and earns a light little chuckle. No, a giggle. A bit unorthodox for a man of his masculine stature? Perhaps. But there’s not a trace of shame held in the blacksmith’s expression. Only a genuine joy of just how comfortable he is around Sadie, how EASILY she can stir the hiccups of his laughter and the flutters of his heart.

    It never ceases to amaze him how pining for her can be both so excruciating and yet, so very FUN.

“ Well I’ll be sure t’look fresh as a daisy for ya come tomorrow, Miss Adler. That’s a promise. ” He’s admittedly only half-embarrassed by the greasy, metallic-dusted state of his skin. The other half, the larger half, is simply happy to have given her an excuse to grace him with her touch. And he lingers so very close to her, for a good long while, until it is Sadie who makes the first motion to step back. He’s absolutely awful at pulling himself away from even her slightest touch. He silently hopes that it’s not an intrusion in her eyes, but he simply can’t help it — that smile of hers? That laugh? Everything about her is so goddamn magnetic.

“ Oh I BETTER win, huh? ” His mock offense at the statement is betrayed by the guffaw that erupts from his belly. “ Is that a threat, Miss Adler? ‘Cause I’m countin’ on ya t’make good on it! ” Settling his weight on the bench behind him, August taps his scruffy chin in an expression of deep, contemplative, exaggerated thought. “ I’ll tell ya what: If I do lose, I’ll head out on the trail an’ help ya out with yer next bounty free of any charge. An’ if I win — which I most certainly will — ” The confidence of his words aside, the blacksmith’s brave and playful air does nothing to pale the rosy red blush that blooms on his cheeks any time he’s in her presence. But he has a feeling that this dead giveaway is only working in his favor. “ — then I’ll make yer stay worthwhile an’ we’ll celebrate t’gether. I’ll use my winning’s t’take ya out for a nice dinner in the town over. How’s that sound? ” 

A win-win situation in Wilder’s eyes, if she chooses to accept the bargain. Either way, it’s even more time spent with her. A prize worth more to him than all the silver coins and blue ribbons in the world. 

Even though she teased him about his dirty appearance,  he’s still much cleaner than the men she used to run with.  He’s got coal and grease on him but there’s no horse shit,  no sharp smell of a man who hasn’t taken a bath in weeks.  It’s pleasant,  and everything about him makes her feel safe.  Even if he could snap her neck with just one hand or pin her down without breaking a sweat.  She knows he won’t do it,  trusts him more than she’s trusted anyone since Arthur’s death.  It could end up stabbing her in the back--  but she hopes it won’t.  She deserves to be a bit optimistic after years on years of depression and anger.  Emotions she thought she’d never get rid of,  but then she met August.  He’s a ray of sunshine,  and far too good to her.  She’ll enjoy him while she still has him.

“Fresh as a daisy?  Lord almighty.  You gonna make yourself look and smell like one o’ those city boys?  Because I gotta be honest,  I ain’t too into them types.  You’re fine jus’ the way ya are.  I just like to tease.”  She clears her throat lightly and sets the soiled rag aside,  trying to force herself to stop staring at him so damn much.  She’s paler than he is so the redness on her cheeks is more than visible.  Thankfully for her,  she’s always got spottiness going on in her face so it’s easy to blame the weather or something not involving him.  Her attempts are futile though since he decides to bring up what he plans to do with the competition money if he wins it.  It sounds like a date to her.  Knowing him,  he’ll make it as fancy as possible and get dressed up all nice.  Having him tag along on a bounty sounds great too,  much more convenient than being taken out on a date...  but damnit,  she wants to sit with him and enjoy some food together and talk for hours.  It sounds like a fantastic time.  Now she really wants him to win.  She won’t show too much enthusiasm,  though.
