Tabby needs someone who can actually take control over her and give her some proper discipline- but not someone who is gonna lord over her or patronize her or treat her like she's nothing more than a delinquent who needs to be handled. She needs a teacher, and Mystique could have been that- if she'd tried. Mystique could have actually taught Tabby some control and made her into this massively badass fighter- with control of herself- but both of them were too caught up in being the alpha female over the Brotherhood they couldn't be bothered.
