lmaooo i mostly see this come up when mga people talk about biphobia or het aces talk about acephobia and they make sweeping statements as if a universal gay experience exists in the first place (lesbians v. gay men, white gay people v. gay poc, etc) and act like authorities on it despite not actually being gay

I loved reading about your inquisitor!!! dalish origin story is great (I have a small boy dalish elf two-handed warrior I made specifically to play through the origin story and romance morrigan who is totally bi but you know) and purple hawke is WONDERFUL. 

my warden you’ve read a bit about (and I intend to write much more about her) - basically odd, Amelie-like character who chafed in the Ferelden Circle but tried to use her advanced abilities to help her fellows avoid tranquility by giving them alternatives to blood magic until she became a Warden...was p distant from everyone in the Circle but loved helping people? compassionate but clinical at the same time - a rare combination but probably a good one if you plan on being Warden-Commander. got fucked up during the Broken Circle quest (that quest and all the self-hating mage dreams in the Fade disturbed me so much and made me very emotionally invested in the plight of mage characters), fell deeply in love with Alistair, became Chancellor and Alistair’s mistress when he became king. 

my Hawke was mostly diplomatic with a healthy side of sarcastic. very loyal, loving, and generous. deeply devoted to her family, set adrift when her mother died and Carver was off doing Grey Warden things. threw herself completely behind mage rights at that point as she had no one left to endanger other than the friends who backed her up (and she’d always been on the mages’ side anyway but couldn’t be super-active for their cause because of political and family obligations), supported the mages and let Anders live even though she deeply disapproved of what he/Vengeance/Justice did...also she loves him very much...sad all around...was friends with the whole squad but rivaled merril simply because I like how that relationship concludes even though I like being nice to merril...I like seeing her break the eluvian and not allow it to have such a hold on her life...I will write lots about her too

I’m sitting here thinking about how hard it is being the Herald if you’re Dalish esp if you romance Solas and he’s slowly tearing down the Elven pantheon you probably believe in (if your character’s a religious person) and also if you see the hand of some god - something divine - in the events surrounding you...who do you look to now?

seems like this game is literally the definition of “where is your god now” (and if I recall correctly Corypheus has a moment just like that in the climax)

my cousin (who let me play a bit today) has been gushing about him/lambasting him in equal turns and he’s so...he’s just. like I know his Big Secret and he’s a really REALLY interesting character with so many layers...my fav thing about him is how one minute he’ll be calling the elves “our people” when talking to Lavellan and the next he’s like “oh THOSE elves? idgaf about them” (really good essay about that here)

also he feeds my Fade nerd proclivities like the LAST thing I expected the next game to focus on was the intricacies of the Fade and spirits and demons...and it happened o happy day
