So, that Fold light...
Vesta, your work continues...
*silent remembrance*
So. Just finished Moonward's 4-part show. What an excellent example of diceless role-playing! What an excellent example of collaborative storytelling!

Horus is such a good bird. I will spoil it a little and tell you that Horus comes through unharmed. Perhaps, even a little more spoiled than he was at the start of the story.

Funny how the shipyard is off in the desert. I wonder if the folks that laid out Stationary Hill and the shipyard had realized that there is nothing in the desert.
Not even us.

Moonward - Part 4
Midst behind, Moonward ahead.
I am so enamored with this universe that I'm going through the entire history. I want to spread this world on toast and eat it with a sharp coffee. I am aware that consuming Fold may have... unintended consequences.
Here for it.
I have been relistening to Moonward what with seaaon 3 of Unend starting to come out, and I'm mentally rotating some stuff we learn about the Mothers.
In Moonward ep2, the Mothers are described as "creatures of the Fold" and they are invisible to Walden's "radar" for sensing objects and entities around him. This, along with the reaction Steve had to Mother Artifice is making me believe that the Mothers either no longer have a consciousness in a traditional sense or one operates on a level that cannot be percieved in the same way.
If we use the Foldlight metaphor, I am starting to think that the Mothers, assuming they have a consciousness and aren't undead in some way, might be like a blacklight or UV blub. The energy is there, but it is beyond what we can physically percieve, so our brains do their best to fill it in with the closest part of the visual spectrum we can see.
Steve seems to percieve people by their consciousness or aura to some degree, so the idea of seeing a void or an energy that you know you aren't fully seeing would certainly align with how unnerved he was. It would also jive with the general unnatural sense folks get from the Mothers, and thematically with former Mothers like Dark Sonia. Maybe we'll never fully know the Mothers' deal but it's fun to theorize about.
