The first stop we took was so we could visit some of her friends in Perth, Western Australia.

 We stayed in a section of the city called Fremantle. We spent our days ducking into coffee shops, book stores, and art museums.

 I was interested in visiting area beaches, but the Antarctic winds made it impossible to stay there for very long! We’d run into coffee shops to recover.

 Friends gave us an amazing tour around the area, including Kings Park and Botanic Garden:

We took a trip to the Perth Zoo and discovered my aunt is the Kangaroo Whisperer:

 We spent a delicious night at Moondyne Joe’s where our waitress Leticia made us an amazing custom pizza beside a roaring fire:

 Then we took off for Melbourne, Victoria, to meet my stepfather’s family. They took us on a trip outside the city that included a visit to the Healesville Sanctuary, a rainforest hike, and a sunset glimpse of Hanging Rock.

 The next day, we got an amazing tour of Melbourne. The State Library of Victoria was a huge highlight for me!

 I was exhausted by the time we boarded the plane back home. Australia was so much fun and I’m looking forward to the next trip! I have a few things on my bucket list that I can only check off over there. So, until then, Australia!
