my friend wanted me to make a moodboard of a character for her (no themes specifically just the character) and ur guide was superhelpful for getting started (btw) (just wanted to throw u a bone:3) , but urggg my autism is making me overthink... i donno anything abt the game its from... whad do i do :,3
No worries !! Itās pretty hard so I understand, Iāll make sure it easy enough to understand !! /gen
Fandom Wikis: most games have fandom wikis, itās pretty easy to find them by searching online so I highly recommend it, they have lots of information on how the character acts in the game or perhaps background stories or even trivia. However sometimes they have a wiki that doesnāt have a lot of information or no wiki at all (Iāve only seen a few games like this). Which is okay !
Pinterest: when it comes to pictures of the character, you can get a pretty good look at them and their aesthetic/color themes theyād have. Maybe they have a special item on them that is like a sword or perhaps a map, searching up those can add to it. Some keywords I like to use would be ācolor aestheticā (replace color with the actual color), it also helps if you use specific words with it, āsoftā āroughā ālightā āgentleā or any other wording, these are just a few I use a lot due to the type of boards I do the most.
Art/fanart: For me personally, I would look at how others draw the character interacting with others, even if it is a ship art! It might not help as much since it doesnāt help with the theme, but it shows how that character is to that artist and others, so if there is a consistent theme going on with it. An example would be Batman/bruce Wayne, many draw him as quiet or mysterious.
Tumblr posts: I donāt think are are any fandoms NOT on tumblr, even if some havenāt been updated in awhile, you can always find something. Usually art.
YouTube: this one can help a lot sometimes but usually for gameplay or maybe if someone did a video essay on the character (not many do). There are some that do character compilations, like for Resident evil or Genshin, a lot of those types of games but most games donāt usually do that unless the company lets out special videos about it (birthday videos or special events).
Asking the requester: this one may make you anxious, it makes me anxious doing it as well, but asking your friend for possible themes could help a lot ! Now this might not work for anons (if ever do any for an anon) since you donāt know if they will check, they most likely will but never really know!
Template for asking:
āHey so just to make sure, what kind of themes align with this character? Any colors to look out for or maybe animals?ā
You do not have to use it, itās just a suggestion incase you need it!!
There may be more but this is how I do it, some of them might not work out or maybe all do, Iām not sure! But feel free to ask again, I will search for more things to help ya out !! Also Iām glad my guide was helpful, worked hard to make sure it was so that makes me happy !
heya not a req but i made some moodboards for someones ocs and wanted feedback if they looked okay? :>
its my first times making themš
hai omg so sorry for the late response
life stuff heh-
those all look great, the first ones a little unbalanced but i think you might be able to pretty easily fix it by replacing that one super dark pic or darkening the others a tad to match
but yeah those are all fantastic, good job :)
Do you have any tips for people who are new at doing moodboards? (I'm new) (ā āļ¾ā āļ¾ā )ā ā
Hi, how are you?
It's great to have someone new on doing moodboards!
Here are some of my tips for you:
⢠There should be nine pictures
⢠Don't use more than four character pictures
⢠You have to put them in a good order. I think it looks best when there aren't two character pictures next to each other. You can also take a look at my moodboards.
⢠All pictures should be the same size
⢠And the most important thing is to always have fun and enjoy it.
I hope my tips can help you! :)
advice to new moodboard bloggers?
well I started about 2 months ago and Iāve been active since then really and some advice Iāll give you is that, there is no limit for mood boarding really. Make whatever you want with whoever you want, there is no limit to creativity.
Also donāt be afraid of other mood board creators, they are all nice people and they donāt bite. (The ones that I know of š)
make sure if your using another persons divider (border, lace, etc) give them credits in the tags. (I recommend going to the photos app once you download whatever divider and making a separate folder named
ādividers by ___ā so you know who to tag.)
It may take some time to get a lot of likes on posts or followers but try to stay active and make lots of mutuals and try to comment on others posts, it makes the other person feel good about their post and it can get you closer with others :D
thatās mostly it, thereās some other things. If yall want me to make a post about it I can addressing all the tips for tumblr I know!!
I hope this helps, I love you all š«¶š»

any tips for making mbs? i really love ur mbs btww <3 keep up the good work !!
ty love <3 + here are some tips !
make sure the aesthetics/themes of each picture you put in the moodboard either have similar color palettes or are related in some way
make sure when you're putting the mb together, it looks balanced ( it's a little hard to explain lol )
usually i use pinterest to find the images for my mbs, that can be helpful !
dividers and locs help add a kind of "vibe" to your mb ( @.v6que and @.plutism are some of my favorite divider makers , you can just search up "cute/pretty/etc locs" in the search bar and some will pop up )
i hope these were helpful !
how do you find images for moodboards?
i use a mixture of Google and Pintrest (primarily pintrest)
Basically, I get the vibe I want to go for, for example the Mello moodboard i did was about religion, and he's very commonly headcannoned to be catholic. So I searched things like 'religion' 'catholic' and added aesthetic afterward (not saying religion is an aesthetic it just helps to find nice pictures). If you want certain colors or details in it, then add that to the search bar too. Also, something I find that helps if that if you click on an image that fits with the vibe you're going for but doesn't actually work with what you have, underneath or to the side they'll be similar images and you can just keep going until you find one that works.
I hope this helps!
tips for making moodboards for the first time?
oooo okay! i am definitely not an expert by any means but maybe thatās even better because if i can do it, you can do it!Ā
this is the gist of myĀ āprocessā:
the first thing i do when making a moodboard is brainstorming elements to include. more specifically, i think about the most important aspects of the fic iām writing and think of how to incorporate it in the moodboard! for example, PEACHES for the peach fic was obviously something i wanted to include in the moodboard but it doesnāt have to be quite that obvious haha. if youāre including people (which i highly recommend), think about the ages/appearances of the characters in your fic (i donāt want to assume itās h&l so iām going to say characters) and find pictures that fit those ideas! for me, pinterest is a really helpful tool for finding pictures (not just of people but in general) but i also just type inĀ āharry styles 2017ā³ orĀ āharry styles age 22ā³ in the search bar to filter through pictures of him to fit the age/era he has in the fic. for objects and other pictures- i type in something likeĀ āsheets aestheticā orĀ āstudying aestheticā to find nice pictures!Ā
