So Monteiths I generally think do good beer, them canny kiwis, so of course I have to shell out some cashola when they put out a beer with 5 words in the name. Is the unfiltered moniker truly necessary? Hell, is the word beer necessary? Several harrowing memories of forcing myself to drink strange unlabeled things from bottles convince me this is true. Anyway, I get out my beer enjoyment goblet (you thought I just tasted beer? oh no, above and beyond as always my brothers), and pop the top. The smell of apricot fills the air so fast I'd have suspected some kind of chemo-terrorism if it wasn't such a relaxing odour. And you know what? It tasted like it smelled, so actually pretty tasty, like, same level as that Dju Dju beer but unfortunately not served in a tribal manner. Perfect for a trip to the bach (sic) as the label tells me, intepret it as you will. 4/5.
