The test they gave me shouldn't have decided if I was neurodivergent, the fact I've seen every episode of Monsterquest definitely should have though.

Witness around the world report seeing monsters. Are they real, or imaginary? Science searches for answers. Desperately. Science has not slept in days, in pursuit of this mystery. Science is shaking and gasping as it body rejects the abuse. Science has been swept into a fervor- a frenzy- the likes of which few ever see, let alone let overtake them. The desperate pleas of friend and family and strangers alike fall on the deaf ears of Science, as they pace and pull at their hair, muttering questions they cannot answer.
On MonsterQuest.
“Wolf-like creatures now live in the realm of psychology. And Wisconsin.”
shout-out to MonsterQuest season 1 episode 14 for one of the most delightful sequence of words I’ve ever heard
On This Day in Cryptid History
March 25th: In 2010, Monsterquest producer Doug Hajicek announced on Cryptomundo the cancellation of the History TV show. Monsterquest showcased various cryptids and strange animals around the world, while analyzing evidence of such creatures.
I think something that makes cryptozoology even more aggravating and harder for me to enjoy even in a goofy way is how Viciously anti science, racist, and antisemitic so of it is.
Like so many late surviving dinosaur cryptids were pushed by young earth creationists and evolution deniers and it's hard over look how fucking gross that is.
All the "expeditions into untouched jungles and speaking to witnesses from local tribes" have this uncomfortable colonistic and exploitative angle to them and frame the indigenous people as quaint, unintelligent, or worst of all "savage".
And I shouldn't have to explain the problematic nature of any cryptid that is a hyper intelligent lizard person supposedly controlling institutions
It's just tiring and depressing. Part of me wants to just enjoy the goofiness of the loch mess monster and moth man but knowing that gross weirdness is lying just beneath the surface makes me want to crawl out of my skin

A week ago I had the great pleasure of interviewing Doug Hajicek, a cryptozoological researcher and director/producer of History Channel’s MonsterQuest, Discovery’s Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science and it’s upcoming sequel Legend Meets Science 2. What was anticipated to be about an hour long podcast episode turned into a two-episode special.
Part one of the podcast premieres this Friday (2/14) at 6PM EST with the second part coming the week after. Catch it here:
MonsterQuest was a History channel show that ran from 2007 to 2010. The television show focused on cryptozoological creatures but touched on beings of the paranormal occasionally. MonsterQuest was a popular show but it was canceled midway through its fourth season.
