We posted about Smoke Bellow's release for Trouble in Mind back in 2021. I guess I didn't really dive into their catalogue back then because I know I would have been smitten by "Blooming/Middling". This is an excellent example of jangle krautrock. There are elements of The Feelies/The Trypes, Yo La Tengo and some Flying Nun.

"Hitching Post" is an excellent starting point. The album tends more to longer/drony pieces as the album wears on. In places it also reminds me of one of my underrated releases - Monotrophy.

Monotrophy are a French band on the S.K. Records label.  I’d never heard of the band or the label.  

Krautrock fans take heed.  “Feldpath” is the only released song, but I’m sure that any krautrock fan will love this (listen to the 5:42 mark!).  The band only has guitar and drums...

I would appreciate it if Like Minds (pun intended) could continue seeing my content without having to know the passcode.

Tumblr... I am an inherently harmonizing guy, but you are pushing it with your inconvenient functionality.

Though I suppose I should give a heads up that my content is being moved in case someone comes in the future to inquire so this is the post! Hah.

The Bandcamp page for R. Daneel Olivaw’s “Deimos Phobos” release states that “The "R" initial in the name stands for "Robot".“

Telephone Exchange are a band from Mexico City, Mexico.  It looks to be the brainchild of Cesar Saldivar after a “three year field trip working at architecture offices, living a corporate life.”

There really are a wide variety of sounds here.  Woozy guitars dominate the early part of the LP, while album closer is a krautrock/groove masterpiece.  Think of Monotrophy crossed with Snapper when listening to “Machine Learning”.

On change complètement de style avec ce groupe de Lyon. Et pour une fois que c’est pas un groupe de Punk-Rock, réjouissez vous de mon éclectisme! Les lyonnais balancent un élange de Math-Rock, de Krautrock (terme qui me paraît hyper flou), avec des titres exclusivement instrumentaux, mais tellement efficace. C’est pas le genre de Noise-Rock hyper raffiné, c’est plutôt brut et rentre-dedans. Bref, limite du Punk, mais bien joué! Le niveau des deux musiciens (le line-up est composé d’un batteur et d’un guitariste seulement) est assez hallucinant. On se laisse facilement porté par leur créativité, sans pour autant devoir tendre l’oreille en mode spécialiste du rock. Si vous êtes à Marseille ce soir le groupe joue avec Partout Partout à La Tache, et il me semble qu’ils étaient hier soir à l’épicerie moderne, à Lyon, non?
