I can’t tell if monocytes wearing protective gear was an intentional design choice since they are one of the few cell types to be more resistant to radiation and apoptosis (aka programmed cell death) compared to other white blood cells
Either way it’s a cool detail

Cells at work season 2 intro moments that make me happy
Monocytes are a type of white blood cell that eat debris as they travel the bloodstream. They can differentiate into macrophages when they enter tissue near an infection site. Macrophages can consume (process called phagocytosis) pathogens whether it be bacteria or another cell and then present pieces of the pathogen on the surface of their body to trigger an immune response.
Minicyte (Fighting/Psychic): If a Minicyte is larger than their enemy, they would try to consume the enemy. Minicytes are often grouped up in the wild as they try to fight enemies together through the power of teamwork.
Macrophyte (Fighting/Psychic): Macrophytes can consume through any part of their body, not just their "mouth". They use their mouths to make sounds. Macrophytes often guard other smaller creatures and quickly warn them with a loud sound when an enemy approaches.

I really like the Macrophage as the concept of this consummate professional, a picture of grace and elegance even in battle, who every so often dresses up like a giant yellow marshmallow and uses her anonymity to be as derpy as possible
In short: get you a woman who can do both
I think I would draw the characters of Hataraku Saibou / Cells at Work rather than their actual look. I would probabaly get a 0/100 for this. 😆
