Monkeybone!
That classic Henry Selick quirk that I love. And what a cast!

Brendan Fraser in Monkeybone (2001)
Monkeybone 2001, one of my favorite childhood movies.
A famous cartoonist named Stu (played by Brendan Fraser) falls into a coma after an accident, and ends up in Downtown, a place where the monsters from people's nightmares live and comatose people stay while they wait to find out if they get to wake up or die.
Stu has to figure out how to wake up and reunite with his fiancee before his sister pulls the plug on him.
Also, spoiler, there's a scene at the end where Stu wakes up in the body of a dead gymnast as doctors were harvesting his organs, and there's a darkly comedic chase where the doctors are trying to stop him yelling "stop that corpse!" And "those are our organs!" There is some body horror there, because he's basically a zombie.
I'm sorry I haven't really been on here in a while but I re-watched monkeybone for the first time in years, then rewatched it 3 more times and now I'm obsessed. So that's where I'm at.
