Monkey/Stonefruit Trio Headcanons
(we really need to get a consistent name for these guys. It's Macaque, Wukong, and MK
Wukong and Macaque both have unhealthy eating habits. Wukong binge eats a mixture of peaches, peach chips, and things he made with his hair; meanwhile Macaque will just not eat for three days except for a stray banana. MK has made it his mission to get these two on a healthy eating schedule, so whenever he's on the island he spends quite a bit of time in Wukong's kitchen (he's also the only one keeping it stocked).
Adding onto this, MK has been doing his damn best to teach both these monkeys how to cook. It is not working. Macaque is slightly less hopeless than Wukong, who refuses to learn how to properly cook.
As mentioned in this post, Macaque and MK have both been using Wukong's closet. One day Wukong ends up looking in his closet and just assuming he put clothes in at some point, and ends up wearing MK's pants and Macaque's shirt, both of which were tight on him so he just shapeshifted to fit into them. Both MK and Macaque thought this was HILARIOUS and did not tell him for hours. Oddly enough, Macaque broke first because he was worried about Wukong stretching the seams on his nice shirt.
MK and Macaque started playing video games together because MK thought Macaque needed more enrichment where he could indulge in his villainous instincts ("he used to laugh all the time as a villain Monkey King!"). This definitely was not secretly a way to have an ally to bully all of MK's opponents in online games. Definitely not.
TECHNICALLY Macaque doesn't live in Wukong's hut. He still sleeps in his gay tree...but he's ALWAYS there. And at first it was only when MK was around, and then it happened that even when he was around Macaque might start scrounging in the kitchen, or be watching something on Wukong's TV.
Macaque had this horrifying realization at one point that he was the cool mentor. He's never been the cool anything in his life, especially compared to Wukong. He had to lie down in the shadows for a bit after that realization. Similarly, Wukong also had to lie down after realizing he was somehow stricter in his training than Macaque. Not that Wukong is actually that strict, so much as Wukong does not test MK's limits like Macaque does. MK actually really likes and really responds to training that pushes him beyond what he thinks he is capable of.
Wukong uses eyedrops. Neither Macaque nor MK knew this, but both think it's adorable (only one of them is comfortable calling it such)
Canon might contradict this, but MK is for sure a stress cleaner. When he's in a particularly bad mood he starts going through Wukong's hoard, trying to organize it. Not even Macaque and Wukong are allowed to get close when he's like this, but they do still keep an eye on him so no more shenanigans happen.
Movie nights are impossible, because these two old narcissists can make any film about themselves. After about three tries, MK called it quits.
They are ALL crybabies. Just never all three at the same time. If MK and and Macaque are crying, Wukong is staying far away. If MK and Wukong are crying, Macaque has to be the voice of reason. If Wukong and Macaque are both crying then something TERRIBLE has gone wrong and MK probably isn't around anymore to cry. If he is though then he does have to hold back the tears as he tries to help them.
Turns out, dying makes you run cold. Also as it turns out, spending 49 days in Lao Tzu's Trigram Furnace makes you run hot forever. You see where I'm going with this. Cuddles. Not for any reason other than temperature regulation. Definitely.
