Monkey is one of the Furious Five and a student of Master Shifu, and is himself a kung fu master, being an expert in, of course, Monkey Style. He was a thief and a prankster in his youth who would make a fool out of anyone who tried to get rid of him, but then he met Oogway, who was able to best him at his own game. When Monkey tried to leave in shame, Oogway reassured him and convinced him to use his skills for good. He became a hero of his village, and later joined the Furious Five.
Monkey has a good sense of humor and is playful and easygoing, but just as fierce of a warrior as his friends. He's also a little bit of a romantic.
