I mean, while I certainly agree that production values weren't nearly as high in the first season as they were as the show progressed, there is absolutely nothing that can be said about Nine as a character or Chris as an actor that I will agree with aside from lavish praise. Yeah, the show was getting itself back on its feet, but the characters were great and it had what it needed to reach the point it's at now, and anyone who says that Nine was bad needs to reevaluate their definition of bad. He was a great character, end of story, and Chris did a fabulous job portraying him. I miss him too, I wish he'd been there longer :(

I am in love with Markus - he is everything I wish all my author's could be. He just gets it from both ends - he appreciates that a book once it is published belongs to everyone and reading it is a private experience, there are no right and wrong answers when it comes to interpretation. Gah...I could talk all day on how much I love him and everything about how he handles himself on social media.

lol - you're the second person to mention TVD as the one fandom on par with this one just now. It kinda makes me glad that I;m not in it. My favourite author (Marcus Zusak) has been asked a ton of times about what he thought happened to his characters in The Book Thief in the future and whether a certain ship sails. He's very polite, very wonderful and very honest and he always tells the same story about what he likes to think happened to them, but then always says that really, it comes down to what you want to believe - so if it is different from what he pictures, that's fine. That's what I think all authors should do - this dictatorial method of 'if you don't like it, you don't understand it' thing is wrong.

Never have I been in a fandom where discussion and difference of opinion has been so frowned upon than this one, and I have been in some really batshit fandoms in my time.

But we just don't GET it...we don't appreciate how it had to end that way, how Will would be so happy, yada yada yada. An open ending would have allowed everyone to be happy, but I get the sense that so many people were upset at the ending, that we're actually seeing her try and over-sell it now, to the extent where the rest of us feel like we can't even say anything negative about it. It isn't even fun anymore - I have so many thoughts and can't say any of them, because Cassie has fostered this atmosphere about it where if you didn't like it, it clearly was because you didn't understand it or the characters, and that sucks.

She's pushing it hard, that's for sure. She needs to ease up on trying to make it happen. Ramming it down our throats isn't going to change anyone's opinion.
