I wouldn’t want to be anyone else’s kid man. God knows they weren’t perfect parents growing up, they’re not even perfect parents now lol. But every passing day I’m reminded they’re getting older, as am I. And I’ll never take what they’ve done for me or the time I have with them for granted. I could not have made it through these past 2 years without them. They were my safety net when my entire life fell apart at the seams and they showed me so much kindness and patience. They’ve respected my path and my healing process in the realest way despite not always agreeing with my methods. I had my time of just being so angry and resentful with them for the ways they dropped the ball in my childhood, but once I felt it all the way through I was able to see them for who they are. 2 wounded people who really did try their best and broke several of their own generational curses. 2 people I know without a shadow of a doubt created me out of love… even with all of the dysfunction of my childhood… I was loved. And I am loved. Immensely. I could go on and on really, I’m feeling particularly sentimental this am. But yea, so deeply grateful for these 2 it makes me cry. Often.
