what  happens  when  you  mix  a  wavering  belief  in  the  old  gods  +  the  primordial  deity  chaos  ?  answer :  you  get  mount  olympus  high.  a  boarding  school  in  portland,  oregon,  it’s  hiding  a  secret  that  not  even  its  staff  is  aware  of  -  every  student  (  &  even  some  staff !  ) are  reincarnated  deities ! they  have  no  recollection  of  their  original  selves,  &  the  only  hints  to  who  they  really  are  manifest  as  certain  talents,  or  maybe  an  inexplicable  attraction  to  another  student  (  or  students ).  will  they  ever  work  out  who  they  really  are,  or  are  they  doomed  to  be  forgotten  for  eternity  as  the  world  moves  further  &  further  away  from  the  old  beliefs  ?

Getting engaged in an actual debate, with a girl who almost seemed to match his smart mouth and ability to make pretty damn good points? It was exciting, and definitely made up for all the annoying encounters with less than clever classmates he had suffered in the last couple of hours.

BIO

Kol was born far, far too early, and it was only through extraordinary efforts by his father that he survived at all. Born and already half an orphan, his mother having passed in his early birth, Kol spent several months in the NICU before being taken home by his father –– and his father’s wife, Kol having been born the product of an affair. 

He lived with his father only for his youngest years before he was put into boarding schools. His step-mother, while a devoted wife, could not abide by a symbol of her husband’s infidelity being raised in her home. He was bounced school to school, never quite on the RIGHT side of authority. He was notoriously rowdy, and had a charisma that brought others to follow him into a childish madness. 

When he was kicked out of yet another school when he was thirteen, he was sent to OREGON. NOTHING good ever came out of Oregon. Still, it’s the school in which he’s stayed the longest: NOTHING he does seems to get him expelled. He’s excelled in theatre, especially with his penchant for dramatics, though he’s never missed a chance to throw a good party. He’s wild, and reckless, and he loves being just that.

          Elsa Saunders was born to a soft-hearted mother and a fierce father; two people on separate spectra come together to conceive a daughter whom would grow to become a beautiful young woman. Little did they know, however, despite her allurement, Elsa was on a path to solitude; constructing walls brick by brick with each passing year. And the rate of development only increased when mother walked out the door, leaving damaged child and emotionally abusive father. It wasn’t his fault, of course; his negative development rose from her own mistakes and tendencies. She would be involved with the wrong crowd, find love in false relationships, be driven from society and into her own world. The words of her father would bite into her; provoking her insecurities, forcing guilt wrought memories to resurface, blaming her very existence. This was not a world for her; it was felt deep in a dormant locale of her essence. But it was the only world, the only reality, that she knew. 

          Luckily, however, upon reaching high school, she enrolled into Mount Olympus High and took residence on school grounds. It may not be the escape she sought, but it was the perfect liberation from berating father. Though lacking companionship, comfort was found in the winter season; embraced by the misunderstood cold, much like herself. At school, her ability to lie (as so experienced when concealing her social life from her father) came into great use when she enrolled in drama class. And her emotional instability led her toward her second choice of psychology; a desire to comprehend the reason behind actions of others as well as the own hell in her head. 

          Now at age 18, a senior at MOH, Elsa can only push forward through her final year toward a future that would hopefully be more tolerable than the life currently lived. Isolation remains an option, though her time at school has shaped her into something better than the roof she lived under with her complex father. Friends are welcome, but boundaries are set. She’s trusted before, and disaster resulted. Let her soul be damned if she makes the same mistake twice...
