Charlee was born in a very small town in rural Tennessee. The fifth child, and only daughter, of very strict religious parents she often felt like a stranger in her own home. And town. Being homeschooled left her little opportunity to socialize outside of church (not that it mattered since no one want to talk to a ‘spaz’ like her), and her brothers and parents usually ignored her at home (unless her mother had something to nit-pick or criticize). She felt alone, and lonely, and often that nothing special or exciting would ever come to her.

Until the day everything changed.

As with all Muggle-born witches and wizards, Hogwarts Acceptance Letters are delivered personally by a member of the staff, and Charlee’s letter was delivered personally by the Headmaster. They explained the circumstances of the letters, as well as some usual occurrences that perhaps could not be explained before around the house, to her parents and what it meant. It did not go over well.

Her parents initially went ballistic. Responding to their fear with anger. They forbade the headmaster or any other ‘freaks’ to come to their house again. Pretending it never happened. But when her parents finally realized it wasn’t going away, being ‘good’ Christian folks, thought that her mutation was from the devil and tried to pray it away. And when that didn’t work for several years, and honestly only made it worse, very nearly becoming an Obscurus, Charlee was sent to the Hogwarts. She hasn’t spoken to her parents or family since arriving at the school. Any effort to contact them on her part has been met with resistance and return to sender letters, to the point that she hasn’t tried to contact them in years. She stays at the school for most, if not all, holidays or other witching families willing to keep her for summers.

She is sometimes feels just as isolated and lonely as she did before all this happened.

Personality: Charlee is what one might think of as a ‘traditional’ Hufflepuff stereotype. Shy, quiet, easily flustered. However, she does possess a lot the typical positive Hufflepuff traits too: such as kindness, compassion, hard work, helpfulness, and loyalty. Because of her past as a young girl, and difficult history with being a witch, it’s hard for Charlee to open up to people and make friends. But when she does she is probably the best friend you’ll ever have, and is very fond of the few friends she does have.

Also because of her past and upbringing with her parents, she isn’t very good with boys. Charlee would like to be but her shyness often gets in the way, so she usually just turns into a stuttering, tomato red mess before darting away when approached most of the time.

BIO

Kol was born far, far too early, and it was only through extraordinary efforts by his father that he survived at all. Born and already half an orphan, his mother having passed in his early birth, Kol spent several months in the NICU before being taken home by his father –– and his father’s wife, Kol having been born the product of an affair. 

He lived with his father only for his youngest years before he was put into boarding schools. His step-mother, while a devoted wife, could not abide by a symbol of her husband’s infidelity being raised in her home. He was bounced school to school, never quite on the RIGHT side of authority. He was notoriously rowdy, and had a charisma that brought others to follow him into a childish madness. 

When he was kicked out of yet another school when he was thirteen, he was sent to OREGON. NOTHING good ever came out of Oregon. Still, it’s the school in which he’s stayed the longest: NOTHING he does seems to get him expelled. He’s excelled in theatre, especially with his penchant for dramatics, though he’s never missed a chance to throw a good party. He’s wild, and reckless, and he loves being just that.

Basics

Name: Tyr, god of war, justice, and eternal purveyor of Tuesdays Alias: Kol Mikaelson Physical Age: 25 Symbol: spear, the North Star

Tyr

                    Tyr was an old, old god who dealt in war and in justice. In the early histories, Tyr’s importance was as necessary as the sun in the sky, and his name rang through the Germanic and Scandinavian tribes. It has been suggested through surviving texts and philological study of the Germanic and Norse languages that Tyr was once the father of the gods and the head of the old Pantheon, though his significance waned as popularity for Odin waxed. Tyr was known as the BOLDEST AMONG THE GODS for his courage, especially after he had sacrificed his hand for the wolf Fenrir to be bound. 

In the myths, Tyr’s mother is never named, and his father changes depending on WHEN the text comes to us. Younger texts from more Odin-centric times name Odin as Tyr’s father, though the older texts show Tyr’s importance in the older religions and cultures, and name him much older than the future Allfather. Save for Thor’s own son, Magni, Tyr is the only god for whom there is text suggesting that he could be comparatively as strong as Thor. 

Tyr’s own name is tied to JUSTICE, WAR, DIVINITY, and PERJURY. He is a god who, through his own bold deception and sacrifice, ensures that the gods are redeemed and provides a precedent for the concept of legality. 

For the ancient peoples, war and justice were inextricably intertwined, which explains why there was no real contradiction for them for a major player to be the god of both law and battle. In fact, war was so often a well-executed and well-regulated legal battle that it made sense that their god of bloodshed would also have a hand in their legal system. 

In the Prose Edda’s telling of  Ragnarok, Tyr is destined to kill and be killed by the WORST OF MONSTERS: Hel’s hound Garmr. However, he is not mentioned by name in the Poetic versions of the Edda, and there is some speculation as to whether Tyr could be the “Mighty One” who would rule after Ragnarok, though nothing to truly confirm that.

Kol

                     Now, he was named KOL, choosing one of the youngest sons from an old Norwegian family. The tie to their old lands and felt CORRECT and RIGHT to the old god of balance. He leads a privileged life, though: affluent to FILTH, young and handsome and certainly feeling the burn of WAR in his veins. Kol is brilliant, though often misunderstood, and there are burning moments when he misses the very old days when he was SIGNIFICANT.

BIO

He’s one of the older ones, certainly. For over a thousand years, Kol has walked the earth with witches. When he had been given a choice of MAGIC or PEACE, he’d chosen magic. He would ALWAYS choose magic. But when he was still a very young ANGEL, he’d been injured in a fashion he had, for the last several hundred years, considered irrevocable. A pierce through his heart would not have been a problem –– he’d already DIED –– but the silver had been stained by a DARKLIGHTER, and he’d found himself substantially weakened. When he had awoken, a part of him was… broken. GONE. The part of magic he had loved most dearly was GONE and he could no longer feel it. Instead, he only felt the needs of others. He only heard their voices. He viewed his injury with no small amount of resentment, wondering what the POINT was if he could not feel what he so longed to feel. But still, he continued. He studied magic as much as he protected it, and defended his fair share of magic’s future.

JEREMY ( @hauntedgilbert ) : in the future, Kol will be his whitelighter. In fact, he’ll be the one who helps Jeremy come back to the past. BUT NOW, he’s a suspicious kid who Kol suddenly finds himself ASSIGNED to. And what’s worse, Jeremy seems to KNOW him.

Biography:

Dionysus was the son of Zeus and the mortal, Semele. Semele was killed before he was born in a plot borne by Hera, and Zeus saved Dionysus by sewing the fetus into his thigh and allowing him to grow from there. Having “died” as a fetus and been reborn in Zeus, Dionysus was made fully god and fully immortal.

Was raised away from the general pantheon. For short times he lived with goddesses who resided away from Mount Olympus ( such as Persephone ), but left to the woods when he was old enough to do so. 

Cares deeply about nature & the balance, and prefers being in the wood.

Has taken to wearing a mortal guise often and goes by the name KOL exclusively. He interacts with very few gods on a regular basis and prefers to stay with the gifted mortals –– sometimes known as witches, sometimes known as the unbalanced or crazy.

Loves a good party. Nowadays he can actually be found trying to inspire the scholars of the classical times, trying to work them back up into a frenzy for the pantheon. His labors have created such hits as Disney’s Hercules and Clash of the Titans. He’s working on tweaking his approach.

Brief bio:  Marcus is the adopted son of Eden’s father. His birth father and he served in the military together where they become very good and close friends, despite one being a Patrician and the other a middle class Pleb. When his family died in a fire when he was 11, Marcus was taken in by the Juli and raised as their own.

He, however, does not share many of the same ideals his ‘true Patrician’ family members share. His sister teases him that it’s his soft Plebian heart, but he thinks slavery and living in opulence while other starve is fundamentally wrong.

Like his father, both birth and adopted, he wants to join the military and become a commanding officer of a legion. Already adapt in combat sword play and shield he is tempted to throw his hat in the ring in the games. However he isn’t stupid enough to actually do so.

Eden – his adopted older sister who he is very fond of. Despite her husband dying, which he is sad a man died but is also ambivalent to it, Marcus is very happy she is back home in the Capital.

Religion: Roman polytheistic; primarily a worshiper of the Capitoline Triad, which includes Jupiter (God of the Sky and King of the Gods), Juno (wife of Jupiter. Goddess of Women and Matters of state), and Minerva (Goddess of Wisdom. Patron of Arts and Trade)

Brief bio: Born into power as one of branch families of the great Julii, the name that birthed Ceaser and Augustus, Eden is the eldest child and daughter of her household. A widower, as her husband, arranged for her by family to another powerful family, died some years ago of fever in their villa in Capri. With no children, and her husband with no family at his death, all of his estate and monies passed to her; making her a very wealthy woman, more than she already was. Despite this, however, per tradition as a woman with no husband, Eden has returned to her ancestral home in the Capitol, until she remarries (though she is in no rush to be betrothed again).

Eden is of sharp wit and sharp mind. Blessed with beauty her calculating intentions are often overlooked in favor of his bright eyes or enigmatic smile. But she is no fool. And she learned quickly and early on in her family how Rome really works, and what it takes to survive in a place like this.

Marcus - adopted younger brother, who’s birth family was Plebian. Eden loves her brother very deeply, thinking of him as her own blood. They are very close and is happy to see him again after so many years away from the Capital.
