I used to skate during p.e. classes at uni 3 years ago and was really eager to learn, but after ~16 lessons with a teacher I still wasn't comfortable enough to even just glide in the middle of the rink... and then faceplanted and hurt my nose really badly, and haven't skated since. I want to overcome the fear and go back to skating (even bought butt pads and stuff) but idk how to start :( Whenever I see people asking about triples I just think "well I want to learn how to not die on ice first"..
You can enroll in group lessons, if youâre feeling up to it. Personally, I find that group lessons are less intimidating because everyone is there to do the same thing, and they probably have some of the same feelings as you. You can make friends and work together and help each other with the guidance of an instructor.Â
I know skating can be scary sometimes, especially when youâve had less-than-ideal experiences with it, but if you really want to learn, youâll be able to do it! :)Â
