"My mum’s ashes were packaged by the crematorium in a cardboard tube decorated with a pixelated sunset picture. I thought it was fine, until I read a story about a phoenix that builds an egg to carry its dad's body to centre of the earth. I decided that, I, too, ought to build an egg-urn, to transport the ashes to their final resting place, a beach in Donegal. This felt like a Very Important Task so I put it off until the evening before the flight, and then I put it off further by compiling my favourite sad songs with my favourite songs about mums in a playlist to soundtrack my creative egg-urn endeavour. The night passed and I realised that coat hangers and PVA glue weren’t the best materials for making something both customs friendly and suitably sturdy (my mum was a tall woman) and so the ashes were packed into a children’s lunch bag. I suppose making a dead mum mix is a form of egg building. It is, at least, a nice way to mark the passing of a year." . Tracklist: . Kanye West - Hey Mama M. T.
