Pretty sure if Qui-Gon was the one to train Anakin, things would have turned out better. He was always a cage rattler in the Jedi Order and was always flexible with the rules. Plus Anakin would better learn to trust in the force above all else.
even though obi-wan did a great job training anakin, i think you may be right. qui-gon would have understood anakin’s doubts and problems and would have tried to solve them even if it meant going against the jedi council. also anakin would’ve felt understood, completely accepted and supported (so maybe anakin would have told qui-gon about the nightmares instead of not telling obi-wan because he was afraid of being told not to let emotions control you - like he was told later by yoda) which, i guess, would have prevented things from escalating.(don’t get me wrong, obi-wan was amazing and did the best he could but sometimes anakin needed someone who was more like him, had doubts like him, treated him as a complete equal and who would have stood up for him - like obi-wan did at the end of phantom menace to yoda - to the jedi council. he needed to be recognized as a human being who struggles with the strict boundaries and rules of the jedi council.)
