Anyway, I think if anyone would be surprised about Mina attacking Ash, it’d be Ash himself? After all, the main thing that tipped him off about her being possessed when Mogul took control of her was that she punched him (’Mina just HIT me! She’s never done anything like that!’), so her doing so out of her own free will and anger would probably be enough of a wake-up call to realize OH FUCK I REALLY SCREWED UP

(seriously, if the girl who hates to fight and gets anxiety attacks about everything is mad enough to throw all of her rage at you for joining the side of the guy who’s responsible for nearly killing the two of you, YOU KNOW YOU DONE SOMETHING REALLY BAD)

and yeah, Shadow would probably be taken aback for a second or two, but it quickly clicks WHY she’s so angry, and he figures if anyone would punish Ash enough for doing such a bone-headed move, it would be her (if not through her tiny fists, then the sheer guilt), and moves in to take out the rest of the Egg goons with very little sweat

and when I was waiting for TSSZ to load, I was like ‘Oh, maybe this was the mysterious game on Rouge’s VA’s resume? Maybe they’re finally bringing her into the fray and maybe provide some context to Shadow’s shit attitude in the previous games?? There’s gotta be a reason why others assume I should be stoked about it’

I mean, props I guess for having more than one girl involved this time and a... semi-thought through story (though with Boom, it probably won’t be as dramatic as it sounds), plus actually utilizing THE THING THE GAME FRANCHISE IS KNOWN FOR, but I don’t own a 3DS, I’m not about to buy one for this game and I pretty much left the Boom bus months ago

... y’know, this sort of reminds me of a fanstory idea I had ageeeees back, where the Master Emerald was in fact the resting spirit/force of a goddess (also named Emerald, or Emma because I was a lazy teenager), who was Chaos’ wife/lover back in ancient times, but something happened to the two of them and she became Knuckle’s waifu the huge hunk of rock we all know today and Chaos kept himself inside of the ME to stay with her (never mind that Chaos is theorized to be a mutated chao but shh)

but yeah, the Chaos Emeralds were their children who dispersed themselves throughout the world and never got along very well all together (which is why they repel after they’re all collected) and the Master Emerald was the only one who could keep them calm/neutralized? 

SO WITH THAT IN MIND, STEVEN GOT THE RIGHT IDEA 

all that headcanony fanstory stuff aside, Steven would get so distressed over people using the emeralds for their own gains, because THEY HAVE FEELINGS TOO, THEY DON’T HAVE A SAY IN THIS and Sonic’s like .......bruh calm down they’re just rocks and Steven’s all MY MOM WAS A ROCK OKAY

LIKE. SUITLESS VADER, PEOPLE. 

nobody seems to care about vaderkin and it bugs me to no end because vaderkin. oh my god. vaderkin is like death and the Force personified and it’s fascinating because it’s so raw 

you know, there’s vulnerability in canon!vader when you know his backstory, when you think about the man behind the mask and wonder how he got there. but people didn’t ever do that because a) they thought he was a droid and b) they died before they had the chance to think about deep shit like that, probably. nobody ever dared to think vader was anything less than a monster, because he really wasn’t anyway. he did horrible things, things nobody should be forgiven for ever, end of, basta. and it’s completely right that they thought of him that way, because he deserved it. he was a monster in many ways, and it didn’t matter why or when or how he got there, he was and he was horrible. he was anyone’s worst nightmare, a faceless phantom.

(but. suitless!vader’s face is famous. how would the empire spin the Hero With No Fear switching sides - well, debatable, the public would not think he switched sides - and turning into the Emperor’s personal ah. exterminator?

there would have to be whispers of what anakin skywalker became and people would be afraid of that, i think. fear causes mistrust. not the point BUT. i need to work on this.)

there’s vulnerability in his suit and how the control panel on his chest is placed in a way that indicates it was designed for someone else to control, too. but again, people though he was a robot so like, of course, robots are made to be controlled, no biggie, or were too scared of him to think, poor thing, i can’t believe he’s forced to live out the rest of his life in that suit. i almost feel bad for this youngling-murdering tyrant :(

that didn’t happen. he’s cold and faceless and an impenetrable fortress; he’s the epitome of the horrifying villian you can’t beat because they’re definitely at least 3 steps ahead of you.

(him being ‘three steps ahead’ has a lot to do with age, too, because as he got older vader seemed to have become less chaotic and seemed to know and accept his own limitations more. he knew couldn’t achieve everything by applying brute force only anymore because mustafar left him crippled.

canon!vader was 45-ish in rotj and that’s like. a jedi (or well, force user) in their prime, innit? 

like, look at dooku. he’s 70 and he will fuck you up. he’ll humor you for a while like, sure, let’s spar a bit, you foolish imbecile - but force forbid you step on his cloak, because then it’ll go all the way down. he’ll kill you and make one of his servants wipe the floor with your corpse, because he does not do anything as unremarkable as chores. “how rude of you to bleed to death all over my wookie fur carpet, why is being a sith so hard”

losing against skywalker was completely out of context, too. winning against Raw Power anakin skywalker when he has zero control over himself is like, not possible. he would’ve won against obi-wan, had anakin not interfered tbh

so here’s a thought; force users don’t achieve their force prime when they’re 23 (because humans achieve their physical prime around then and physical power does not equal force power, and again, human prime, and not all force users are human), but actually when they’re middle aged, whenever that is depending on species. therefore: suitless!vader would probably be like. thrice as powerful as sheev by the time he achieved his full potential. which is scary.)

thinking about the inner workings of suitless!vader’s mind is equally as fascinating as thinking about canon!vader and i really don’t love this au because i want to like. take away canon!vader’s disability and make him flawless and a “sexy hunk that gets the girl in the end” or whatever. not at all. (padme is v much dead in this au, friend, and vader is every bit the lonely bitter widower we want him to be. SIDENOTE: vader’s disabilities aren’t something to be taken lightly or erased for stuff like aesthetic purposes, ever.)

i just wanna explore another aspect of vader which is. suitless!vader is raw, still developing power. he’s. everything. he’s everything and nothing at all and he’s so unstable and unpredictable and. he’s arrogant and has the entire world at his feet and he knows it and like 

what does he do?? who does he talk to?? does he talk to anyone?? what happens?? sheev ahsoka obi wan what happens to these still Very Much Alive people anakin skywalker cared about, especially now that they’ve all betrayed him??

and how blurry is the line between anakin and vader when vader and anakin have the same face and body? because i like to think that vader dissociated himself with his former self and body like, completely. i don’t even think he looks at himself as a person at all before luke shows him that maybe he still is and can be. 

but what happens when the suit and that barrier of durasteel and leather and thick scarred skin that hasn’t seen the sun in twenty-odd years isn’t there?

I ALSO LOVE THE LUKE/SUITLESS!VADER DYNAMIC. BECAUSE IT’S SO GLARINGLY OBVIOUS THEY’RE FATHER AND SON. AND THE LOOK ON VADER’S FACE WHEN HE SEES LUKE AND KENOBI THE ANNOYING PRINCESS HE CAN’T SEEM TO KILL FOR SOME ~REASON TOGETHER IS JUST. DELICIOUS. BECAUSE DEJA VU MUCH? 

and when they’re face to face for the first time it’s sort of like. oh my god. you are my son. why are you such a shrimp though must’ve gotten it from your mother
