Fog juice is something that existed quite a while before I made this blog, believe it or not!

And I’m not actually the one who came up with it! That honor belongs to @diablo-sera-tops, Lace’s muse (ironically LOL)!

Fog juice resulted from a conversation they and I had about Phantom 100% being the type of creature to drink the juice that fog machines use.

This then prompted them to go on and create the fog juice post! This was the first instance of either of us bringing up fog juice on tumblr!

As for that fic, PLEASE go give it a read! It’s the basis for how I treat fog juice on this blog, and where I got the ingredients and brewing process from! It’s not long, and it’s a silly and fun read :3

So!! That’s where fog juice came from!

Just in case all the stuff above didn’t make it 100% clear, fog juice is Phantom’s coffee. The brewing process might be a weird mix of tea and coffee’s, but fog juice’s effects are the exact same as coffee’s. This isn’t 100% canon but: I imagine a normal bug would feel the effects MUCH more strongly than Phantom does.

Rambling down here. I have a lot to say.

If you told me the evening I made this blog that I would end up doing a multiple-month long story arc that explores not just Phantom's character but allows other people to explore THEIR characters, I would not have believed you in the slightest.

If you told me there were dozens upon dozens of people who would end up actively following along with it, getting invested in it, and even interacting with it, I DEFINITELY wouldn't have believed you.

And yet—here we are.

I started this blog for funnies. I started this blog on a whim alongside @diablo-sera-tops, who made Lace to match my Phantom. After seeing blogs like @/fayforn-official, @/chef-lugoli-official, and @/bell-beast-official, each of us thought it'd be a lot of fun to make blogs and just fuck around as the Silkstrung Siblings. I had no damn clue people would end up enjoying Phantom so much—let alone that roleplaying them would end up introducing me to so many wonderful, creative people. I never imagined I'd make new friends doing this; I was just shitposting, man.

Then Phantom challenged GMS. And lost. And fell into slumber. This entire story began because a duel between Phantom and GMS sounded awesome and was a chance to do some RP shenanigans with one of my close friends. Neither of us knew it would be the catalyst for this long, intricate character exploration of sorts that would allow both us and other RPers the chance to write some fun roleplay pieces.

I've been reflecting on it all since we wrapped up the finale, and I'm...a lot more emotional about it all than I thought I'd be? I can't entirely explain why but this feel momentous to me. Ripping The Seams had me looking at Hollow Knight characters like I'd never done before. It got me doodling, memeing, writing—it had me creating. Yeah, it was only a silly roleplay story, but I really do feel like I put so much of myself into it and watched others do the same. It feels like it's so much more than that. Ripping The Seams was, in my eyes, the heart of this blog. It built it up kinda, connected it to others, allowed me to meet so many people and see their own creativity. Not to mention I had so much passion for this whole thing, so of course it hurts knowing it's over lol. But man. What a ride it was.

I don't wanna get too sappy, but I do wanna thank some people for helping bring Ripping The Seams to life:

So many events that happened wouldn't have been the same without @child-of-weaver-and-wyrm's interactions. I've said it before and I'll say it again: your portrayal of Hornet is flawless. Getting to meet you through this whole thing and goof around with you in-character has been such an honor. Love you Grey <333

It has been an indescribable blast getting to explore Phantom and SecSen's friendship with @sentinel-second's help. You play a fantastic SecSen and every single character interaction we've had has brought me SO much joy. Genuinely—prior to our interactions, I didn't quite understand the "hype" over SecSen. I sure do now LOL. Thanks for being my robot friend :3

@muckroach-official! My buddy!!! The entire arc with saving Toccata was SO much fun to do with you. I love our goobers' friendship and I'm so thankful to have it (and you!) included in Ripping the Seams.

Shoutouts to @spectroacha for not JUST Undercrank Jack, but for Rek as well! Coming up with the whole plan around Jack's death was SO fun, man. I love being evil with you dude >:3 Thank you for making Phantom's awakening, and Ripping The Seams as a whole, so much more special <3333

@ventrica-system-announcements I know you can't respond, but Ripping The Seams would not have been ANYWHERE near the same if you hadn't made a move on the Exhaust Organ after Phantom's "death". I genuinely don't think it'd be the same story at all. I love, love roleplaying with you and the beef our characters (roles?) have LOL.

This story, and my blog as a whole, also would not be the same without @pharloom-white-knight. You're kinda the reason this blog exists, lol; if you hadn't made your blog, I likely wouldn't have made mine. It's been an indescribable pleasure to grow even closer through this whole roleplaying thing, and go insane over all these characters together. I cannot WAIT to keep messing around on here with you, and get our planned story started when the time comes. Thank you for being one of my closest friends, and for being the Lace to my Phantom. Lastly, but certainly not least, @grandmothersilkofficial. Where the fuck do I even start. God, could you imagine—when we met in a different fandom all those years ago—telling ourselves we just did ALL THAT? That you would end up perfectly roleplaying one of Hollow Knight Silksong's most complex, layered characters? And writing, in roleplay form, what is essentially a whole ass thesis on her?????? I will get you, one of these days. I'm being so serious when I say that you have permanently altered and improved my perception of Grand Mother Silk and her character. Not only do you capture her personality and mannerisms so effortlessly, you utilize what and who she is for shitposting in absolutely fucking hysterical ways. I'm so thankful that silly little battle we had let to us absolutely slaughtering each other emotionally through a big roleplay interaction. All the roleplay interactions we've had, as a part of Ripping The Seams and not, have made me realize that I don't tell you enough how thankful I am to have you as a friend, dude—as corny as that is lmao. But genuinely. Thanks for doing all of this with me. Love you Snowball <3333

There are so, so many others that played a role in Ripping The Seams; whether it was through direct character interactions or simply viewing posts, I genuinely am so indescribably thankful for your support of this whole thing. I'm glad you all enjoyed and gave my dumb Phantom and its dumb story blog a chance, so-to-speak.
