It's been a while since we've featured something from Iowaville - one of Iowa's most incredible village sites! The Iowaville site in Van Buren County is a Baxoje (Ioway) village that was occupied from about 1770 to 1824. This bone is the humerus of a swan, found during excavations in 2011. We do not know the intent or purpose of the markings. Incised bone is always remarkable to find!
