So, I had a head cannon about a month ago... We all know technology does not worth properly on school grounds(I've seen fan theories that the more magic a technological object is exposed to, the more sentience that object can gain, like the Weasley's car). If we accept that theory as true... Okay, so, imagine (for you parents's of school age children) telling your child they have to go off to school and can't take their laptop/cellphone/psp/tablet etc. I don't see it going well personally. 😂 Anyways, my head cannon is this: Every year, atleast one student (usually a Gryffindor, but occasionally a Ravenclaw or Slytherin , rarely a puff) sneaks in (for example) their lap top, which, if we accept the earlier fan theory, leads to a Macintosh going on a rampage. This happens so regularly nowadays, Mcgonagall doesn't even say anything , she simply blasts the laptop/cell phone/PlayStation to bits and then goes off to her office to turn into a cat, play with a ball of wand, and think of the days where Fred and George were her biggest problem studentwise. 😂

So, after the battle, the castle had to be put back together, and the room of requirement was a wreck , it would never work the same again... So Minerva Asked her students for recommendations as to what she should do with the renovated space, and of course Luna had the perfect idea. The room was turned into an area of remembrance, somewhere to miss and respect the fallen. Minerva had portraits commissioned of everyone who lost their life so that they could be free, and it becomes totally normal to come across Andromeda playing with Teddy at the foot of his parents' portrait, George and Molly often come by to visit with Fred, and Harry often brings his kids by to pay their respects and learn about the fallen. (Lilly's favorite to talk to and play with is a portrait of a young man named Colin who always snaps pictures of her with his silly looking muggle camera. ) That way, their legacy and sacrifice is never forgotten, and as students who don't remember to war come through, the portraits are able to put a face to the story, and tell them things that help make it real for them, keeping the memory alive forever in hopes history never repeats itself.
