When Hvirserk returns after a raid, the moment he steps through the door still smelling of blood, salt and sweat. He drops his axe and goes straight to you, wrapping his arms around you and lifting you off the ground as he buries his face in your neck.
The first few hours he refuses to let you get out of his lap, ridiculously clingy. He follows you around with a golden retriever energy while telling you wild (and exaggerated) stories from the battles, arms looped around your waist from behind.
He brings you gifts like delicate silver arm rings, soft furs, a squished flower that he kept safe inside his coat, and gets shy when he presents them. "Thought you'd like it..."
At night he falls asleep with his face pressed to your chest, one leg thrown over you, holding you and you barely can move. Every time you shift he makes a little distressed sound in his sleep until you settle again.
