summary: A man wearing a light denim jacket over a dark blue shirt came into the shop, a box tucked under his right arm. Despite it being late afternoon, he was wearing sunglasses with bright blue lenses, and his long, dark hair was pulled back in a messy little bun. A few strands had escaped, framing his strong, unshaven jawline. The man looked into the café, smiled widely, and waved in Clint’s direction as he kept walking into the bookstore, and Steve’s mouth went completely dry.

Beautiful, was the only word to describe that smile; straight, white teeth framed by full, lush, red lips, bracketed by laugh lines and an adorable dimple in his right cheek, a charming little chin cleft just visible under the light stubble—Steve was struck literally speechless. And that was before he got a glimpse of the man’s backside. Slim hips and a round, firm-looking ass led to long, lean legs that were encased in snug, dark blue jeans.

“Guh,” Steve said, watching the dark-haired man continue on to the back of the store.

summary: “Is this the part where we turn from morticians into ghost hunters?” Sam asked as they flipped out the basement lights and locked the door back behind them.

”I sure hope not.”

The men began their hustle back up toward the state rooms out front when they passed the cooler and heard the noise again.

Steve and Sam both stopped in their tracks.

“Is that-“ Steve turned on his heel and pointed toward the refrigerated room where people’s bodies were stored.

“You know I ain’t ever been scared of dead people,” Sam answered, “...but if someone in that fridge is knocking, all you’re gonna see of my brown ass is a pinprick on the horizon as I get the hell away from here as fast as I can move.”

summary: ‘Would you like anything else?’ Steve gestured at the cabinet of cakes, gazing at Bucky from under those eyelashes. ‘You look like you deserve something sweet as well.’

Bucky literally had no idea what was happening to him. No one had flirted with him since 1943, but some long unopened files in his mind were suggesting that eyelash fluttering and lip chewing (fuck Steve was biting gently on his full bottom lip) were signals which a Bucky long ago would have taken as a cue to flash his best smile and lean forward a little. Most of those memories seemed to involve women, but not exclusively.
