Lancia was founded in 1906 by Italian racer and inventor Vincenzo Lancia. From the very beginning, its owner did not follow the beaten track, but became a pioneer in various fields of automotive design. This has helped Lancia models always stay ahead of their time and be in demand among innovation enthusiasts.

The first Aurelia PF200 was unveiled at the 1952 Turin Motor Show, where thousands of visitors, including potential buyers, drew attention to it, although there was no talk of mass production. The show car was based on the Lancia Aurelia B52 chassis with a 2-liter V6 engine producing 75 or 90 hp.

In the design of the car, developed by Battista Farina himself and his son Sergio, the oval radiator grill with a forward-protruding chrome frame was first of all striking.

It resembled the air intake of the F86 Saber or MiG-15 fighter. Round headlights were located at the ends of the cigar-shaped sidewalls, along with decorative remnants of the front bumper ("bumperettes"). The reactive theme was continued by tail fins with vertical chrome inserts, a tapering tail and triple exhaust pipes protruding from the body, similar to machine guns.

There were two different open-top PF200 bodies: one had a soft roof and a curved windshield, hence the name Convertible, and the other (Spyder) had only a flat windshield with an unusual bulge opposite the driver's seat.

Besides them, at least two coupes are known. The first, presented at the 1952 Paris Motor Show, featured a long panoramic rear window divided into three sections by thin bridges, while the second, shown at the same exhibition in 1954, received "sailing" C-pillars and a recessed rear window. In total, from 1952 to 1955. 6 copies of the Lancia Aurelia PF200 were built, of which four have survived to this day.
