I'm very frustrated rn. I'm genderflux & I've been trying to pick a new name for over a month. The problem is that the names I like when I'm in agender headspace feel completely alien and not me when I'm in woman headspace. And the names I like when I'm in woman headspace give me dysphoria when I'm in agender headspace. I feel like there's no real middle ground. But I really really don't want to pick 2 names. Do you have any advice?
I imagine that is incredibly frustrating. I presume you’ve tried several names that can be interpreted as either masc/neutral and feminine, such as Riley, Sam, Alex, Sage, etc. Alternatively, perhaps picking a name that is an uncommon name and related to nature might help? Those feel like they might feel more connected to you as a person than any particular gender. It’s also possible that swapping between different names internally is messing with your head a little, and perhaps you’ll settle into a name if you stick with it, even if only online or internally, for a little bit. Many trans people still feel a bit weird in new names after a year or even more, and I imagine this is further complicated when your gender itself changes. If none of this works, you may end up having to go the two names route. To assist with this legally and/or for your own comfort, having a hyphenated name might help?Do any followers, especially fluid or fluxing people, have any tips?-Mod Waver

You know what trans boys and men are? Absolutely amazing. You that what else is absolutely amazing? The voices of trans boys and men. Your voices are great, pre t, post t, still in puberty, your voice is amazing.

People who use both she/her and he/him pronouns? Amazing. Stunning. Absolutely brilliant.
to prepare for 2018, can you suggest 10 creative ways to leave my deadname behind in 2017?
Alrighty here we go!
1. Write it down on a piece of paper. Scribble over it, rip it up, tear it, pour water on it, absolutely destroy it, and throw it in the bin. Jumping on it is strongly encouraged.
2. Have the chorus of “that’s not my name” ready to play at all times. When someone deadnames you, play it.
3. Alternatively, sing it yourself.
4. Have a really fancy copy of your name, and sing “Time to say goodbye” to it.
5. Name something after your deadname - a soft toy, your sim character, anything. Whenever someone uses your deadname, talk about this thing. (added bonus of making you associate your deadname with this cool new thing you like).
6. Alternatively, find a character that has your deadname, and talk about them instead.
7. Donate it to @transnameswap!
8. Whenever someone uses it, say “? That’s soooo last year”
9. If you haven’t reached 2018 yet, write your name on a piece of paper, and when the clock strikes midnight, blow it out your window.
10. Name a food item after your deadname, and chop it up, dice it, whatever you want, and serve it to a friend.
I know some of these weren’t very creative, but hopefully enough were to satisfy you! And if other mods or followers have any suggestions, please leave them!
