For Mad Caine,
Where did you buy that suit jacket and top hat? I feel like that would make a very good first impression in school 😎
Hi! What exactly is spooky bang! I didn't quite understand it. And all of the dates?
Spooky Bang is a Good Omens Event with the theme "Spooky" or "Autumn". The goal of a bang is to pair up a writer and artist to collaborate on a project related to the theme.
We have a loose schedule at the moment, and right now we are mostly trying to see how many people are interested. With the theme being spooky, the timeline aims to have all collaborative projects complete just before Halloween.
Safe to say, it looks like plenty of people are interested! Sign-ups will open on May 9th, and there will be a discord where everyone can join to ask questions as well. Mod Mason/@Masoney
Thank you so much for the work you do here! Apologies if this is not something you cover, but I am currently writing a story that features a character that has schizophrenia. The character works as a counselor at a summer camp, and I was wondering if there were any accommodations that might be helpful for him? At the time the story takes place, he has been diagnosed and is taking medication/in counseling for schizophrenia, but I know that there are probably other little things he could do to make life easier (I don't have schizophrenia, but have struggled with mental illness, and know that little stuff like that can really help). A lot of the sites I've looked at mention low-stress environments and consistency as being helpful, which I recognize is probably not ideally met at a summer camp, but the character is very passionate about teaching and has always wanted to work with kids. Do you have any advice?
Hello! Thank you so much. And we absolutely answer for neurodivergence and mental illness as well as physical disability.
My experience is with schizoaffective disorder, which is schizophrenia plus a mood disorder. In my case it's depression but its more frequently bipolar. Some studies have shown schizoaffective people have better prognosis than schizophrenic people because they have less negative symptoms and mainly positive symptoms.
I want to clarify that medication’s benefits vary based on the person - I had friends in psychiatric hospitals who were on multiple antipsychotics and still symptomatic, meanwhile I’m very stable on a low dose of a common antipsychotic plus an appetite suppressant to control the weight gain side effect. I also want to clarify “asymptomatic” is rare. I am very stable and even still I am not asymptomatic - I will have a visual hallucination every few weeks and auditory every few months. But I decide not to go up on meds because the medication for schizophrenia can be very sedating and higher doses can cause larger side effects. Besides, these level of symptoms don’t bother me the way my symptoms off medication did.
So quickly: what do symptoms for schizo-spectrum look like? There’s positive and negative symptoms. Most medications take care of a majority of positive symptoms but few take care of all negative symptoms. And “positive” and “negative” is not meant as in good or bad - positive symptoms are what is added (hallucinations, delusions, disordered speech) and negative symptoms are what is taken away (lack of speech, lack of pleasure, lack of volition, lack of hygiene, etc).
As for accommodations for schizophrenia, it depends on what the character’s symptoms are. If they visually hallucinate people I know of a tiktoker who has a service dog who greets people as they enter the room so her owner knows when a hallucination is there. I had a coworker do something similar by telling me if customers were there or not. Another common technique is recording perceived visual or auditory hallucinations with a camera - usually the hallucination won’t show up on camera, but if it does, you can have a friend view the video and check for you.
As for accommodations for negative symptoms, it really helps me with hygiene to have someone remind me when it’s time to shower, or brush teeth, or do laundry. People with schizophrenia may experience avolition, which is lack of ability to initiate tasks. Having a friend to help start the task could also help, but on bad days dry shampoo and deodorant or wipes can help in a hurry.
If any other schizo-spectrum or psychotic followers have other advice please add it on! Thank you for your patience and for reading this far!

Genuine question, but do you think fat people can look good in cosplay? I’m 5’2 and 152 pounds, and everyone I saw cosplaying all have supermodel-like bodies and I feel kinda discouraged even though I want to try it at least once.
Fat people look awesome in cosplay! Being fat has nothing to do with whether or not the cosplay is awesome.
I would post some pictures I have of fat cosplayers but I can't remember who the photos are of and don't want to post without credit but if anyone has any please send them in to show anon you can look awesome no matter your weight
