That might be the case in the book but not so in the show. It's a rather intense scene, shall we say, where she knowingly gives up her uterus completely sans pain meds iirc. That sets the stage for her to switch from pursuing power to being really, really angry about not being able to bear children. Which would be interesting if only they'd explore the regret properly, but they don't. At least not yet.

Geralt is the lead of course but Yen gets a lot of screentime and frankly she's much more interesting than he is for like the first half. I mean, she always is but her first arc is fantastic. Her story doesn't revolve around men and neither, really does any of the many other female characters in the series with the exception of two characters, Téa and Véa. Otherwise the show is actually pretty good about women having their own, man-free motivations and relationships. And they get to be complicated, too, even!

Down side is that Geralt and Yen have 0 chemistry and it's like watching turtles kiss. They are probably one of the most boring str8 couples of the last five years and so far, the show is pretty hetero (though Geralt and Jaskier give me strong early Xena and Gabrielle vibes). If you can tolerate that for ladies getting their own stories, it might be worth it.

Nobody should have been bullying Emily anyway but yes, they should have built her up properly. I don’t think he was ready to move on in TWS myself but he could have been by Endgame. And that movie was a complete shitshow I will never forgive them for bc they did absolutely no one any justice in those three awful hours.

Also, not holding my breath for her getting jack shit in the TV show. I adore both Sam and Bucky and I do think they’ve both been shafted by the MCU, but the MCU has a tendency to promote the narratives of men at the expense of women.

So the first thing I’m going to say here is that we don’t need to diminish other female characters in order to promote Sharon. Yes, Sharon should have gotten more screen time in CA:TWS if she was going to be the CFLI (I skipped CW and IW so I can’t comment), but we don’t need to diminish Natasha. Also, I’m gonna point out that Steve asked Sharon out at the end of CA:TWS and she declined, but left the door open for later. I don’t blame her for doing so bc I don’t think Steve was ready to move on and being the rebound isn’t fun.

On the note of Peggy, if she wasn’t dating Steve - and we don’t know that for sure afaik, that was entirely a formality. I’m not gonna pretend I’m not an ardent Steggy shipper and literally the only thing I can say for the shitshow that was Endgame is that there’s more Stegginelli but again, we don’t need push Sharon at Peggy’s expense. That Steve went back to her instead of finishing his character arc is entirely due to shitty, lazy writing from the Russo Brothers. Peggy was done. She didn’t need this and this nonsense erases not only her character development but her previously canon love interest (hat tip to mod M for reminding me of this in our chat). 

The directors had three whole, unbearable fucking hours to do justice to Sharon, Nat, Tony, Steve, Thor, and the others, and they didn’t because they are shitty at anything with character development. And in fairness, that’s a lot of shit to do in one movie but they squandered so much time with bullshit. Place the blame where it belongs instead of attempting to push Nat and Peggy out of their places.

That said, I do agree that Steve should have retired, passed on the mantle to Sam, and idk, been Sharon’s house spouse or gone to art school or whatever the fuck he wanted to do with the rest of his life, instead of aging like Joe fucking Biden and destroying multiple movies’ worth of character development. 

Stanning is a helluva drug. I suspect Tony had reservations before the events of IM1 but yep, pretty much. He was willingly part of the military industrial complex and made zillions of dollars off it until he paid for his complicity with his own blood. You can't compare him to a poor kid from Brooklyn, an alien who grew under the apparently extremely effective coverstory of Pax Asgardia, or Sam (we don't have much on his early life but I feel like we can safely say his background is nothing like Tony's).
