Less than 10 days remain to nominate your blorbo(s) for Dissociation Swag Competition 2!!! (You can read more about the event here)
Nominations close on Saturday, September 30, 2023! I may keep them open till October 1 just to give everyone one last weekend to get submissions in BUT no promises yet!
Hello! This form is to collect nominations for Round 2 of the Dissociation Swag Competition! Please keep in mind the following rules: Fictio
At the time of writing we have 110 nominations, many of which are unique nominations! Keep them coming!
nice
Are there still plans for a part two or no? (No pressure either way, just wondering as it's been a month since the last update.)
There still are! We've been really busy irl and haven't had as much time as we were hoping to to get things together, but we've been slowly getting the stuff to at least start Round 2's nomination period! I was hoping to get that together sometime this weekend, no promises, but I'm hoping to try!
Sometime over the course of this coming week we'll begin our transition over to becoming the Dissociation Swag Convention! We'll keep the url the same for ease of linking but yeah! We'll still run little competitions here and there but we'll make a whole post detailing what the new blog setup will be once we're done with that!

Curious, because I've had a fascination with liminality/liminal spaces/liminal horror for quite some time now:
Those who deal with dissociation on a recurring basis, do you find comfort in liminality?
Yes
Yes, but only when it's NOT used for horror
I only find it comforting if I AM dissociating
I only find it comforting if I'm NOT dissociating
Sometimes / It Depends
It's Complicated
No, it doesn't interest me
No, I actively dislike it / It distresses me
Other? (Leave a comment if you'd like!)
Please don't vote if you don't deal with dissociation! Just trying to get a good data set :)
You can read a bit on liminality and liminal spaces here for those unfamiliar with the concept
As someone who finds great understanding and comfort in the liminal, I'm curious if that's just us or if there's a possible correlation with levels of comfort and dissociation, as there may be a foundation of familiarity that others don't have
Note: When I say "dissociation on a recurring basis", this means anyone who dissociates (having some form of out of body experience - most commonly a form a depersonalization or derealization) more than once. Doesn't matter how frequently, but enough that you've noticed it more than once.
How the fuck do you figure out if you're plural or if you're just mentally unstable in a different way?
*Raises metaphorical glass* Ain't that the question of the century
Sadly nonnie, and it sucks to hear, but the best one to answer that is yourself. You're gonna know your own mind better than anyone, and sadly there isn't a "checklist" of quantifiable things that determine if you're plural or not.
That being said, if you have access to a therapist or other trusted mental health professional, I highly recommend going to them. You're the expert on your mind, but they're the experts on how to best treat whatever's going on. Regardless of what does or does not get diagnosed, a professional could help manage your symptoms in a way that best benefits you!
@plural-swag-competition shared a resource in the past called More Than One, it goes into a surface level understanding of plurality and lists multiple sources for further reading if you'd like, and it may help you figure out yourself (or selves!)
If it helps, I can also go into a few ways that we realized we're likely plural, so it it helps to hear from someone very new to this, I'll put that under the cut because it's long and personal
Oh yeah we keep forgetting to make a mod list oops
SO we'll make a fancy post about it later but uh hii this blog is run by one system(very newly realized, so thanks for the patience as we figure ourselves out), but we thought it'd be cute to give us little mod names and present us with our pronouns!
Also including screenshots because we picked mod names matching Transformers Animated because we thought it'd be cute to be matchy matchy! Under the cut though because images take space,,,
