To Arle, Rulue, and Schezo... thoughts on Amitie, Raffina, and Sig, respectively?
"I love Amitie! I wish we could hang out more, but I'm always so busy, and when I'm not busy I usually spend the day with my other friends.... I hope she doesn't think I don't like her...."
"Raffina could very well be my student, but I think she's done well on her own so far. If she ever needs a tutor, well, I'm not the Fighting Queen for nothing!"
"I... I can't help but be a bit jealous of the boy. There's a reason they call me selfish, after all."
hmm this style is cool but i feel like i can spruce it up a it *turns Schezo and Satan into a go animate person * MUCH BETTER ! also this is a joke this style is amazing i love it
"WHY DO I HAVE TO BE LOIS?"
thank you for the compliment :) -fiery
Hello all! Fiery here, and today I bring you all a very important poll!
So, the Ask ARSS blog was kinda made on a whim with no major plans behind it. However, I want to improve my story telling/comic work, and I think this blog may be a good place to practice. A lot of ask blogs will have overarching stories/small arcs, so my question is,
Should I start doing mini arcs?*
Yeah!
No thank you!
see results/indifferent
*Basically, should I script out short comics for a small story periodically. For example, I may write an arc where Arle goes grocery shopping but encounters obstacles, a story told via comic format.
Don't worry, no matter the outcome, you can still ask any questions, or even questions related to the arcs. It is an ask blog, so no matter what I'll still be answering any asks I receive.
With the Splatoon 3 Direct over, new information regarding the Splatlands has come to light! You can find the official Squid Research Lab report [RIGHT HERE!] Which goes in depth even farther than the direct did!
At the moment, I will not be going I depth about the direct, as the report above does that better than I ever could. However, I have a few things to share!
The Hero Mode now has several things confirmed. The level design is reminiscent of Kamabo Co. Tests. Callie and Marie appeared, along with Captain Craig Cuttlefishand Captain Three.
The new idols, Deep Cut, now have confirmed designs! Along with their debut, we were given the confirmation of Tricolor Splatfest Turf Wars and 3 teams on Splatfests!
This will be all for this post. Please read the research report at the top of the post for more information!

The Splattershot Jr. is a lightweight weapon, and the first weapon you receive from Ammo Knights in Splatoon 2. It has a wide ink zone and a medium distance range, along with a good fire rate. Overall, the Splattershot Jr. is a well rounded weapon and is great for newly joined Inklings and Octolings.
The Splattershot Jr. replaces the Ink Tank with what seems to be a baby bottle. (An adorable touch, as Mod Fiery believes)
The Splattershot Jr. is good for close combat, dealing okay damage to the enemy, while also being great for inking turf thanks to its wide ink zone. It's a good beginner weapon in order to get a handle on the game's mechanics and understand the basics of shooter weapons, while also giving the ability to be a fearsome opponent in the hands of players with more experience.
The Splattershot Jr. itself, while not very flashy, is a great weapon, and, in the hands of anyone, is great for beginners and pros alike.
Defense
The Splattershot Jr. is a great weapon for defense and offense alike, due to it being more geared towards beginners, it's better on the defensive side of things. That being said, it's still great on offense.
The Splattershot Jr. is great at inking a large area with little effort, making it great for building up your Special. It had a low ink consumption rate, allowing you to fire up to 255 shots before running out. (Inkpedia) Along with that, you can apply Ink Saver (Main) in order to get more life out of your ink consumption.
Its great ink consumption rate makes it an amazing backliner, and it's special, Ink Armor makes for a lovely support backliner.
Mod Fiery's recommend abilities for defense:
For a good defense, it's important to have abilities on your gear to help aid you. Our octo in the lab, Mod Fiery, has a few abilities that could give you an advantage against the enemy's fire!
Ink Saver (Main) would be a lovely ability to keep your ink up, and keep you high and dry.
Special Charge Up will allow your Ink Armor to charge up faster than ever, and keep your teammates out of hot water!
Main Power Up increases ink coverage on the Jr. and will let you cover more turf faster.
Special Power Up is a must for when you have a weapon with Ink Armor! It'll save you teammates in a jam, since it applies the Ink Armor much faster!
Offense
While the Splattershot Jr. is more branded for defense due to its defensive special, in the hands of a pro, it's a great play for offense. It's not suited for an overly aggressive style of play, though it's possible to pull off an extreme amount of splats if you know what you're doing. Paired with the Splat Bomb, it's easy to turn the tides in your team's favor.
An easy way to trick the enemy is to keep them preoccupied, whether that me with a teammate, a bomb, or your special. A great way to do this is to move fast, ink territory, and keep them on their toes. Never let them know your next move.
Mod Fiery's recommend abilities for offense:
Once again, the local lab octo has something cooking up! Here's Mod Fiery's suggested abilities for offense.
Special Power Up as said in the defense section, it's crucial no matter what playstyle you use to have this ability. It makes it a lot easier to deploy Ink Armor.
Ink Saver (Sub) if you don't sleep on your sub, then you should know that it's a great idea to throw those things out there! Ink Saver Sub will help you with that.
Sub Power Up would be a lovely addition to this if you use your sub.
Ink Resistance Up would help keep the enemy ink off your back and your head up high!
Special and Sub
The special and sub of a weapon are a crucial backing to the playstyle you choose. Here, Mod Fiery will briefly get into some tips about using the special and sub of the Splattershot Jr.
Splat Bomb
The Splat Bomb is a well rounded and basic sub weapon that's easy for beginners to use and get the hang of. You can simply throw it, or you can roll it against the ground in order for it to inksplode faster.
Despite being basic enough for beginners to get the hang of it, it's a great sub that can be used for a lot of things. This combination of Splat Bombs and Ink Armor has the chance to be great. Are you up for the task?
Ink Armor
The Ink Armor is a defensive special meant to keep you and your teammates out of trouble. Though slow to work without abilities, it's a great shield to have when rushing the enemy line!
Base Duration
Deployment: 2 seconds
Active: 6 seconds
(Inkpedia)
Keep in mind, while your Ink Armor is activated, you're able to be spotted even in squid form due to your eyes glowing! This cannot be reversed by Ninja Squid. Ink Armor cannot be applied to those who are in the middle of a Booyah Bomb or have the Rainmaker.
Ink Armor is good for when you're about to head into enemy territory, or when you're going to make the push in Ranked! Use it wisely, too early or too late, and you might be washed out by the tide…
Testing, testing...
After some long and grueling field testing, the results are in! With the Splattershot Jr.'s testing over, all that's left is compiling results. I'd say our testing was quite successful...
