Between not even getting cute art for the collab with any Sonic characters, her horrible characterization in Puzzle Pop, and Nazo Puyo games she stars in being not-canon all of the sudden to "mainline series"-

… but Tetris and Champions are… okay SEGA. Sure.

I'm just, kinda irritated? Don't get me wrong, some of the other characters have been treated rather badly too (Raffina and Witch), but I think it is definitely the most notable with Rulue.

I'm fully aware that even back then, she was never as popular as other characters like Witch or Draco but it feels… kinda misogynist for SEGA to treat her like she's nothing.

The woman who is an adult, actively in love, a little more fresh, and super feminine is the one getting thrown under the bus despite being a pivotal part of ARS- she's a main character for crying out loud.

Or… was.

I noticed that in the Sonic community, a lot of people have been complaining about how the main female characters have been "de-fanged" to be palatable, so to speak. Lost what gave them their bite while male characters are the same as ever. Rouge got some of it back in Crossworlds, but Amy was definitely the character that took a big hit.

And even though they are two completely different branches, I do think this sort of issue has kinda crossed over into Puyo Puyo...

I'm not usually the one to do the "Compile vs SEGA" fight, I think both eras have their ups and downs. But when it comes to how Rulue is handled as a character? Compile wins that one by a landslide.
