It's always a conflicting thing when the amount of challengers to the trial atop Mt. Hokulani are few in number because on one hand, it's a lot less stress that he has to deal with. But on the other, he thinks (and overthinks) why that is, worrying that word is getting around about how his trial is too easy, uninspired, boring, and so on.

At least it gives him some free time, some of which he has taken to spending on observing the cosmos through some of the high-powered telescopes. (Sophocles can still recall how absolutely thrilled he had been when Molayne first showed how they worked, and then even more-so when he was given permission to use them pretty much whenever.)

Heaving a particularly heavy sigh, he shakes his head as if to dismiss the gloom that threatened to steal away what bits of a good mood he still had, then fixes his gaze on the eyepiece of the telescope before him.

"The skies are so.. pretty."

A lackluster thought if there ever was one (and one he silently scolds himself for; be more proper with your phrasing), but it's truthfully what he thinks, finding the inky darkness that was dotted with brightly-shining stars to be absolutely beautiful as well as familiar.

..for the most part, because he soon enough sees something that he doesn't recognize, hands moving to adjust the telescope's settings and move it ever-so-slightly, attempting to keep the moving object within his sight, letting out a disappointed huff when it seems to escape.

--only to be startled when he feels a faint rumble, the thing he had been watching having crashed into the ground.

Judging by the sound as well as the feeling, it wouldn't have been right next to the observatory or anything, but...

"Mo?"

━━--➞The moment his voice comes through on the intercom, the blonde feels a smile crack on her face as her fingertips tingle. She’s been invited inside, but her feet don’t move. Instead, Mina plays with the hem of her shirt as the two wrapped boxes swing in her grip.

     “Hey, its me. ...Are you busy with work and stuff? I had something I wanted to do...with you...today.”

       Its odd for her to feel so unsure about something, but she knows he can be busy with his work or even with Sophocles and desperately wants to avoid any chance of getting in his way, 

[Emi] -> Well, when you like someone you should show them some affections. [Emi] -> Like buying them flowers or a gift or asking them to do something with you. [Emi] -> Really just being yourself around them works wonders. [Emi] -> You can also tell them how you feel if you feel it’s the right thing to do. [Emi] -> It might be hard but I hope this helps!

[Molayne] --> I think i get it.

[Molayne] --> I mean, my friend gets it.

     The sudden vibrations in her hand of her phone playing some cheezy chiptune version of a popular song startle her, and she flops uselessly down in the middle of Poni Meadow. Around her, flowers create a barrier from the outside world. It’s a beautiful place to pass, she thinks as the phone is brought up to her ear.

      “I think I’m gonna actually die,” is the first thing that comes out of her mouth, along with a pitiful laugh that makes her wince. Blood continues to seep through her hand, and her teeth grit together as a wave of pain washes over her. The Trial Captain’s breath is laboured now, grey hues focused on the dark sky above the meadow.

      “I didn’t even get to be with you for that long.”

      That hurts more than any stab wound ever could. Her time has been severely cut short because of someone elses terrible actions, and its enough to make tears come to her eyes. She feels pathetic, as great sobs start to roll through her. She’s never been this vocal in her life, but its a dying right for her to do so.

my opinion on;

character in general: NERD FRIEEEEEENNND!!! I love Molayne so much! Him and Kukui’s relationship is actually golden and deserves SO MUCH MORE love than what it gets! Literally no one talks about their friendship! Its completely underrated and that hurts my soul! Molayne is such a precious nerd and the serious shade he throws at Kukui when you first meet him is just amazing tbh ;A; He’s another character that the fandom just doesn’t love enough and he sort of suffers it for the same reasons Burnet does and I just want my children to be safe and loved tbhhow they play them: Honey let me tell you, they are a GREAT Molayne! Interacting with them is such a joy, especially since I just love the dynamic between Kukui and Molayne because the childhood friendship really shows between them! Their writing is wonderful and they give a lot of love to the precious nerd and I am just so happy ;x;the mun: They are such a lovely person!! We seriously need to plot something lol I have loved chatting with them and interacting with them! Definitely Kukui’s #1 Nerd Friendo!!!

overall opinion: I am so glad I found their blog tbh! I have always loved Molayne and his friendship with Kukui and this is a top notch blog all around! Definitely go give them lots of love!!
