According to his mother, the Fry family always knew their son was destined for great things. At least that's what she says now. The truth is much less sentimental: an oldest son who started out as a bit of a disappointment. His calling was found in his high school years instead, when he first landed on a stage in a leading role. He was captivated by the medium of acting, the ability to tell a story and become someone, something else. It allowed him to escape his anxiety and frustration, shifting into a confident state of mind. To his father's disappointment, he shifted off the mantle of expectation to go to New York for his artistic pursuits instead. First, drama school; then, the Broadway stage.

He preferred stage work, if he could get it, but there was no denying the allure of the pictures, and so he followed many of the other actors of his generation and headed west, landing in Los Angeles fresh off his stage success. It hardly took long for him to encounter Scarlett Alexander, a sweetheart of the silver screen, and they instantly took a liking to each other. Being born to their infamous clan is and always has been an immense source of pride for Robin Walker. A cousin of the family's illustrious head, they were born and raised in Los Angeles - her family earlier to move west than other relatives. From the start it was clear that Robin was a free spirit, knowing the way to charm and earn affection from whoever they wanted. A vibrant personality earned her many friends and admirers, but she maintained a fiercely independent streak.

From the moment her extended family became entrenched in the city, Robin was immediately tied into the business. It became all too easy to be absorbed in the glitz and games that they ran, and it has more or less been Robin's calling for all of their adult life. She has especially found a home as a long time host at the Dunbar, managing guests and keeping all attendees satisfied. She also knows how to pinpoint friends and foes when it comes to the less savory operations, doing it all with a friendly but knowing smile. She cares deeply about the staff at the Dunbar, a second family, and works hard to ensure they're taken care of.

Isabel was born into a sheltered family, with both her parents coming from old money. Her father's relatives are all more or less involved in politics and have created a grand network to ensure their status and influence even beyond the borders. Officially, their image is everything to them and they'll do anything to make sure it stays clean. However, behind closed doors, her father Braulio has connections with the Gallardo Syndicate. Isabel knows and has always been drawn to the underwold even if she claims she can't stand it. She keeps drifting back to it.

Her mother Fernanda comes from Cuban nobility. Despite their backgrounds their marriage was not arranged but probably not the happiest either. They'd always fight a lot, then pretend everything was just great in front of everyone else. Either way, Isabel and her two brothers grew up as typical spoiled rich kids. They never had to worry about a thing in their life. Yet, unlike her brothers, she never relied on her name and family's power alone. Isabel has always been determined and can be quite devious but not many get to see that side of her. She learned to give the public what is expected of her but deep down she's a lot more than that. She is closest to her brothers and takes after her father more than she's willing to admit.

She's been a great student, mastered her all of her classes and any hobby she started as the best and still always felt like it wasn't enough. Isabel always wants more, no matter what. Despite her constantly learning new things and picking up new hobbies, she keeps getting bored easily and sometimes gets into (illegal) trouble. But she knows she can get away with just about anything, thanks to her family and her other half. When she first met Fred Parker, she was more interested in his position than the man himself. As the head of the criminal squat, he unknowingly provides important information for her family and herself. Needless to say, he's blissfully unaware his fiancé is not as in love with him as she pretends to be. And she doesn't even feel bad for it. He's a good guy so it could be worse.

Frida came into the world as a consequence of a forbidden love affair. Her young mother, Eleanor was only eighteen years old when she'd started to work at the Gallardo estate. A year later, when they found out she was with child, they decided to get rid of her and offered her a lot of money to "take care" of what they called "the problem". But Eleanor didn't keep her part of the deal. She took the money to start a new life, far away, with her child.

They didn't have much when she grew up, but Eleanor raised her with love and Frida never asked for much. Their little world was intact up until her mother got sick and married a guy to secure her daughter's future. But after she passed, when Frida was just fifteen, her stepfather changed and her life at home turned into a nightmare.

To free herself, she ran away with only a few belongings in her backpack. She kept her head above water with little jobs, most of them legal, some not so much but she soon learned the street smarts and ultimately landed a job on a ship, which brought her to Los Angeles. Hollywood was her big dream. She didn't plan on becoming famous but who wouldn't be drawn to the glitz and glamour? She's rebel by heart and she dreams big.

As much as Cruz took after his father business wise, he never wanted to be like the man who raised him in his private life. He didn't turn down a good party, when he was young, had his short term relationships like any young man would but that changed the day he'd met Alma, a beautiful woman he fell for upon first sight. The two hit it off and their relationship evolved quickly. He proposed to her two years later and they were planning their wedding, a future together. But tragedy struck during a trip on his yacht. Cruz blames himself for the accident and never really got over it. Later he found out it was a rivals gang who manipulated the yacht to get back at him. The biggest secret he carries around with him up to this day is, he didn’t only lose his future wife that day but also their unborn child. She was almost five months pregnant and they were going to tell their families at their wedding. But it never came to that.

He's a capable business man, doesn't shy away from hard work or even doing the dirty work himself if he has to. Cruz tries to be a fair leader but he'll do anything and whatever it takes to protect his own. He can be either the life of a party, fun to be around or the complete opposite, a cold, merciless thunderstorm. It all depends on the situation and his mood.
