Blue can't breathe. He can't breathe, and he can't see, and it's dark, and it's crushing him, suffocating him, squeezing him, wringing his entire body like a wet rag. There's not even a sliver of light anywhere, he's going to die here, fuck, shit, fuck- "Blue? A-are you alright?" Red. Blue has to swallow through the lump in his throat several times to get it to work, and if he weren't shitting himself with panic he'd be embarrassed by how high his voice gets. "R-Red?" He chokes out. "Y-you got a light?" "No-" The sound of shuffling feet reaches his ears but his heart is pounding too loud for him to pinpoint where it's coming from. "I let Vio borrow the fire rod-" Fuck you Vio. "-I'm sorry, I didn't think-" "It's fine-" Blue forces out. It's definitely not fine. "Wh- where are you?" He reaches out in the darkness, cursing as his palm smacks against the wall of the tunnel. "N-not there, apparently." "Y-your right. I mean, my right- your left." Red says, and he sounds closer, at least. There's nothing for Blue's eyes to adjust to, and he's starting to see weird shapes, and now he's frozen in place, arms awkwardly outstretched. "Uh-" His throat is closing up. "H-here- this way-" Red calls (unhelpfully), and then Blue feels something brush against him and he grabs for it. Maybe a little more forcefully than needed. Red yelps and Blue stumbles, and they both fall over, limbs tangled. "Fuck-" He wheezes. They were never going to get out of here at this rate. He's going to die here. There's no other reason his heart is pounding so loudly. "It-It's okay." Red's voice is right next to his ear, and it's surprisingly comforting. "I'm- I'm okay. We'll be okay Blue." Gods, I hope you're right, Blue thinks.
