So, Felix isn’t an Anti Hero
I know I know, some of ya’ll are gonna come for me, but he’s not. I’ll tell you why I think so.
Here’s why I believe Gabriel is considered a villain. He’s manipulative. He wants the miraculous to make a wish, regardless of the risk or consequences. He hurts people and endangers lives to achieve his goal. (I’m sure we can keep going but imma stick with this)
Doesn’t Felix check all those same boxes? He manipulated Mari/Ladybug, Adrien, Gabriel, etc all for his own desires. He gave the miraculous to hawkmoth-endangering lives and Paris not considering the consequences. Also, he wants the miraculous to make a wish as seen in 5.18
Sure his intentions seem admirable, he wants to free himself and other sentibeings, uh oh did we forget that Gabriels intentions also seem admirable too? He wants to resurrect his dead wife Emilie. It’s not purely selfish, at least not in the beginning
So imo Felix is not an antihero. In this recent episode he was a villain, misguided sure, but still a villain. He’s an interesting character, he’s a separate third party from our protagonist (Ladybug/Chat Noir) and antagonist (Monarch/Hawkmoth) with his own motivations which does add to the plot and intrigue of the show. But In my eyes he was behaving more like a villain, misguided and all.
(I think he has hope to overcome his mistakes though w/the remorse he showed for his actions this past episode, but he’s still got a lot of work ahead of him if he wants to leave the realm of villain imo)
