Influenster #MKGlam voxbox review
So I recently received a HUGE amount of Mary Kay products from Influenster. Influenster is a site that allows you to complete surveys and reviews, and connects to your social media sites; in return, sometimes you can qualify for vox boxes, like the Mary Kay one that I got, full of free sampls (or full sized items) that you can review and keep for yourself. The items in the boxes vary by interest, and I got a makeup one because I completed mainly makeup reviews. It's completely free, but it may be a little frustrating because the results may take a while to show up. (I created my account in December, but received this in April/May.)
I got both a bronzer in Light-Medium ($18) and a blush in Shy Blush ($12) sample, although the bronzer is huge so I'm not sure how accurate the word "sample" is. The bronzer is pretty light and shimmery, almost a golden color. It is very pigmented, but it's not quite dark enough to be a bronzer for me, but I'm pretty tan right now. The blush is a really nice pink color with a LOT of golden shimmer. It's not the most pigmented blush, and when I put it on I got a lot more gold shimmer than pink, but it did still look very nice.
*I just linked the products and these both are actually full sized, and I guess the packaging on these two products just isn't as nice as the others. It would be really easy to put these two in a z palette though, because they come de-potted.
These two brushes are AMAZING. I have pretty few brushes because I find them a bit expensive, and that I got these two was pretty great. The big one is a powder brush ($16), and it's big and fluffy and dense enough to pack on powder. It feels good on the skin, not the softest brush, but a good one nonetheless. The smaller brush is a cream eye color/concealer brush ($10). It feels really nice and is smooth and allows for packing on cream products nicely.
This black gel eyeliner ($18) I received is one of my new favorite products. It is SO pigmented, and the brush works really nicely. It glides on the skin like a dream. The product comes in a really nice little jar and it's easy to pack and travel with.
This is a cream eyeshadow in in Apricot Twist ($14), a golden shimmery color. I used the brush from before with it, but I found it easier to just use my finger to really pack it onto my eyelid. I like the color, but this was nothing really special for me.
I don't have many lip products (or well you always need more right!!) so I was really excited about this one. This is the lip gloss in Mango Tango ($14), and it's a tropical looking red orange with red sparkles. It's sticky, but not horrible, and looks good on the lips. I'm satisfied but not stunned by this product.
I LOVE MASCARAS. This is the Lash Love Mascara ($15) and it's huge. I love that it has a skinny brush and it does a nice job of curling and lengthening your lashes. It does clump fairly easily though, so be careful of that. I do really like it though.
This translucent loose powder ($16) is amazing. It's easy to use along with the powder brush featured above, and really reduces shine. I have really dry skin and don't really get oily though, so I'm not sure how well I can judge.
These were all the products I received. I think they were all full sized too and I had so much fun trying these out. The packaging and quality of all of these are really nice (except for the blush/bronzer) and I highly recommend all of these products. I used all the products when I went to my school's graduation and even though it was really hot (I live in California) everything stayed on my face. I really loved these and I can't wait for my next vox box. Thank you so much Mary Kay/Influenster!!
GO GET YOURSELF SOME FANTASTIC MAKEUP!
Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
