i genuinely don't know where to talk about this
so my dad's side of the family is staunchly catholic
except
ten years ago, my cousin was cleaning out my grandparents' old house in jersey and found my grandfather's geneaology project that he just dropped out of the blue, without ever explaining why, after being obsessed with it for years. he hid the whole thing in the attic and never talked about it again
because he discovered we're jewish
we as a family learned this over a decade ago and NOBODY TALKS ABOUT IT
it pisses me off and i struggle to articulate why sometimes, beyond the antisemitism of it all
brought to you by my aunt's passing. went to her (very catholic) viewing and got upset, both at her dying and how they, as a collective, still refuse to talk about it
